Don’t care if he was a cleaner he has eyes and was in the stadium every day. And presumably spoke to other tradesmen. I’d take his info all day long over some anonymous ITK that knows someone who knows someone. The first thing he said to me was his heart said March but his head said next season. This was when everyone still thought it would be Liverpool. So at the end of the day whatever happens from here he wasn’t far wrong.

From what I saw just outside yesterday, March would be the absolute earliest it's ready. There's still a lot of work to be done by the look of things and remember that we have to run test events first as well. Wouldn't surprise me if it's rest of season at Wembley

I think the only thing that needs to be match ready is the rewiring, everything else I believe can be worked around or use temporary measures until they're fully completed.

What was it you saw outside that convinces you of this, what did you see outside that makes you think we will be at Wembley until the summer.

You’re right. Rather than believe some ITK who knows someone who knows someone, I’ll believe some bloke on a forum who follows a Twitter account of someone who asked a tradesman. Because that’s not just the same thing. Thousands of people were in the stadium every day. We don’t doubt that. But they weren’t giving deadlines on exclusive news (which was wrong) or pretending to be having lunch in the stadium on a day when they weren’t there. Just loses credibility as a source of good information when even when he is stood in the stadium he’s getting stuff wrong. Now while we appreciated the pictures during his short stint can we stop trying to make this the Kramer thread and keep this on track please.

It's funny actually that the assumption has been the wiring in regards to critical safety systems while the exposed fire escapes and stairing were on display for everyone to see on the exterior.

There's been an awful lot of lighting and electrical power related activity over the last month considering the wiring is fucked..

It'll be a shame if we don't make it in this season but it's in the hands of father time now!

Well 1 part you definitely got wrong there in his defence is the “everyone still thought it would be Liverpool”, because he only got the job after it was announced about the delays, going by that podcast

Not sure that the general electrics and the safety systems are the same thing...

You've really got to have an eye for these things. I won't bore you with the constructional terminology.

And he may very well still be completely wrong.
By the way, fitting TV screens presumably means screwing them to the wall doesn't it? Not really electrical as all you have to do is turn a spanner or screwdriver and than plug them in.

1st test event 16th December (allegedly)
Terrific news if true, where is it from?

There seems to be a lot of external ground work to be completed on the Park Lane end of the build.
My assumption is that it will need to be pretty much 100% complete and safe before it's used as the last thing they want is a supporter (especially away fans!) tripping over something etc.
That's just my opinion though.

What I will say is that it truly is immense and the scale of it has to be seen to be believed.
What's most odd is the stark contrast of it against it's run-down/dilapidated surroundings!!!

yes I agree, but because he has eyes and ears @coys200 means he is more reliable than info someone like Edmonton might get because Edmonton might not get his info from the Polish builder having a joint in the basement:whistle:

the stairing you can see from the outside is for the roof walk. that is not essential to effect safety as that option doesn't need to be open till Dan needs to make a few extra pennies

That's just my opinion though.

Having seen the huge amount of groundwork that has been going on over the past few months, plus things like the veil still being added and certain interior rooms looking completely gutted, I think the plan must always have been to be able to open with certain areas of the stadium and surrounding area blocked off to the public. We may even have planned to open with a limited capacity due to safety rules about being able to exit the building safely.

I don't have any building experience, that's just a judgement call based on the volume of work required to get the outside up to the stage it is at now. I think it would have been easy enough to put temporary flooring down to cover much of the outside stuff and keep fans safe from tripping.

So the silver lining to the opening delay is that (fingers crossed) everything will be looking more finished once we finally get in. There will clearly be some building sites left in place - particularly around the South end - but things around the North and West ends are looking miles better than they were in September.

I'm only passing this on for what it's worth. No ITK claim!

The missus and I were in the Bobby Moore Room for the game last night. She's a chatter (I was quietly reading my program). Anyway, she got talking to our nice waiter who has worked in sports catering / hospitality for 20+ years at mainly Wembley, Emirates, WHL and London Stadium. He receives work rotas from all grounds / clubs and has to confirm which dates he can, and can't do (I presume via an agency but he didn't say).

Anyway, I pricked my ears up at this point. He said he's had very little info from Spurs until a few days ago. He has nothing firm now. But he's been told to plan for Newcastle (02 Feb) as the most likely date. However, Man Utd (13 Jan) is still possible so to remain 'on standby' if he can. Watford (30 Jan) is less likely for the usual reason about not starting with a night game (transport concerns) but is also possible. In sum, the unofficial view from the bar staff is probably early Feb.
