Can't seriously see that happening. I don't think Cespa particularly need brand exposure in the UK or anywhere the PL is widely watched. And as an oil and gas firm, they'd have to bear in mind the fact that the UK is odds-on to elect a Prime Minister who wants to nationalise energy companies.

But it would be fucking funny!

I'm quite surprised how few "ring pieces" they have put in for the roof over the last week or so, which makes me think that there can't currently be a huge amount of urgency to get the roof done by a particular deadline.
My thought is there is only a small specialist team tasked with installing the ring pieces - it is far too important to get them exactly right given the pressure they'll be under when the roof is up.
So one will go up every couple of days, as they have been - if there are 10? left, then that is another 20 days before any lift. Give or take. It can't be rushed.

Levy set the bar at roughly 1st Feb for the lift, and in the absence of any other measure, I guess we count the weeks from that point to the lift to work out how far we are behind, (or ahead of schedule.).

It won't take another 20 days for the remaining ring pieces to go in, the progress on the recent ones has been slow because of the number of days lost due to high winds. Also it won't be Levy setting the schedule for construction, he'll give a desired end date, but the schedule for the individual elements will be down to Mace.

Club have applied for an increased capacity of 62,000

I'm interested where they are finding those from at this very late stage. I can only assume it's somewhere that hasn't been terraced yet, but there isn't much of that left!

Thank you guys!

Can't be that hard to put another 441 in can it? Does standing room count towards the total number?
I'm surprised, the number increased a few times during the design phase and earlier on in construction, didn't think it would change this late on. If safe standing is introduced the capacity will increase by a few thousand if i recall correctly. Dortmund for example goes from 65,000 seated to 81,000 standing.

Not hard to put in, that's what we want to do - but we need the council's permission since they're responsible for making sure we can, for instance, get everyone home safely on the public transport or evacuate the stadium promptly in case of emergency.

Standing room doesn't count since persistent standing in the Premier League and Championship is unfortunately still illegal for now.

It’s not that they’re finding them, it’s that the numbers in the plans are only estimates

We though this might happen didn’t we?

That the club would keep on applying to get the capacity up a little bit at a time before it opens.

Yep, and they probably want to accelerate that with the recent political drama - the Momentum members who may well get onto the council in May don't much like us or the new stadium project. (Funnily enough their idea of affordable housing doesn't quite match Levy's vision).

I kneed room to stretch out. And jump around like a loon when Kane bangs in another hattrick.
