Has anybody seen Ferguson play? A couple of matches, perhaps?

Really curious to know what his standard is like.

From the few matches of him that I've seen, probably not good enough to be first choice in a top 6 PL side IMO. But good prospect.

He’s young, versatile, having a decent season and dirt cheap due to his contract situation. I don’t however look at him and think he’s a star/in the making when viewed in comparison to his teammates. Whereas if you look at Aaron’s last season for Norwich you could see something special in him. Now in the EPL he’s held his own and we got very little change out of him the other day. As ITK’s have stated we’re very interested but his heart is set on Chelsea. The best young and homegrown alternative for me is Bogle but given our need to spend money elsewhere is Ferguson viewed as the cheap option in comparison to what Derby would want for Bogle?

I personally see Ferguson as a squad option to take the place of KWP and Rose. Then in the summer we should look to sell Aurier and bring in a legitimate first-choice option such as Aarons.

Totally agree. I think with Ferguson, Davies and Sessegnon (Verts if he extends his contract) you’ve got adequate cover/versatility for the fullback positions. I’d happily sell off KWP, Aurier, and Rose (although it sounds like he’s going to Rodwell us) and go out and buy some proper starting fullback talent.

If you think that’s an ok setup for fullbacks, I’m glad you aren’t in charge of the squad.

Davies & Jan are glacially slow, Sess is still settling down and is really a wide player, and all 3 of them are left footed.

1 young Championship player for right back isn’t enough - I recall having Walker and Trippier battling it out at RB and both were in the England squad.

this article mentions we are in for him. Trix said to keep an eye on the Sun. The signing would make sense if the boy can cover both fullback positions.....as long as he’s not another Kyle naughton in one of them!

Rumor is this is the video Steve Hitchen created to convince Levy to sign Ferguson.

Literally the worst video ever.

And what the fuck is that music.
That music exists purely to tell us that no matter how tough life can be, no matter how much we might lose, or debase ourselves, or feel the crushing weight of failure, we’ll never, ever, ever be as shit as someone who thinks that music has value

Yeah, that music is by an artist (Juice WRLD) that died at the beginning of December aged 21.

May not register on your musical radar, but to the youthful (and not so youthful) his music mattered.

The more you know, eh?

Just on the topic of Ferguson, only reason we're sniffing is because of his contract situation, let's be honest. We know how this story pans out.

Would much rather Derby’s Bogle. Another great bit of play from him today to set up Derby’s goal vs Palace. Very impressive assist.

Yet I haven't seen one link to Bogle and us, yet like so many other players, people continue to talk about him.

Do we have a competent scouting staff or not?

Think we all know the answer to that one.

Or, I guess possible we may have competent scouts, but they don’t get much say in who we actually go after. It’s either the whim of the manager or any players that Levy thinks we can get a deal on (but we actually can’t).

we’ve been so bereft of any coherent roster strategy for 3+ years.

I mentioned him to one of the writers who covers us at the Athletic and he said he was a name he’d heard was under consideration. Although I guess he’s hardly going to say he’s never heard of him!

I think Jack Brook-Pitt - journalist, can't remember his name - stated that he felt it was likely. No idea what he based it on though.

Regarding Bogle, here you have a RB with high potential, very quick, strong, tall, and athletic. He's also a superb dribbler. He is up there with Aarons.

He'd be cheaper and more attainable -considering Derbys position in the league.

Yet we're spending time chasing a RB (Aarons) who has his heart set on Chelsea, who his club won't sell until the summer and are asking for 30m. We're also chasing a RB (Atal) who's injured.

The mind boggles sometimes with this club.

Get over to Derby now and put pressure on them to sell. Stop dicking around.

Apologies mate, it was the tweet in response to you that made it in here, I think.
