Tottenham open to £30million offers for Moussa Sissoko - 18 months after signing midfielder for same fee

Currently a squad player, Sissoko has made a total of 57 appearances for the club, scoring just once

Tottenham are willing to listen to offers for £30million Moussa Sissoko.

The France midfielder has been a bitter disappointment since his arrival at the end of the summer transfer window in 2016.

Currently a squad player, Sissoko has made a total of 57 appearances for the club, scoring just once.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is looking to increase the depth in his squad this month.

But, just as with the summer transfer window, would be prepared to offload Sissoko if an acceptable offer came in.

Darren Lewis is usually pretty reliable for Spurs news, right?

I can see one of the clubs threatened by relegation being interested in Sissoko. He's a good fit for a manger who intends to park the bus and try to hit teams on the counter, as he shores up the right side of the defense and can make those bursting runs forward. The relegation race this season is going to be extremely tight, and staying up is worth so much money that I can see a club potentially being willing to shell out the 30m.

If this happens he would have to be replaced, though. Our squad depth in central midfield is already horrible and we've become quite reliant on him as a squad player. At the very least we would need to recall Onomah.

"Bitter disappointment" on the stat sheet, but it's pretty obvious that the club, or at least Poch, think he's good enough to start. That speaks highly to his work ethic despite frustration in his first season.

Whatever you think of Sissoko, at the very least, he's worked hard enough to please our very strict manager.

Sissoko would be perfect for the way West Ham set up yesterday as a compliment to a poacher like Chicharito. Did you see him with a yard of space past Davinson Sanchez and then Sanchez ran him down? You need a midfield ball carrier like Sissoko to play like that.

Don't know why but I could see Fat Sam being interested in him. Everton may need another CM. Once everyone is fully fit and we do indeed bring others in, I can see his game time being very limited.

I'd bite your hand off for 30m. Whether you've been won over or not by his performances this season is besides the point, even with his improvements, there's still not a chance in hell we get that for him.

No way anyone is offering £30m for Sissoko :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Still can’t believe we paid that for a player worth half that at best and a midtable player at best. I think we should take £15-18m for him and reinvest that and the wages in a more talented player.

I honestly think that Levy saw an opportunity given the structure of the deal. Wasn't it £6m a year for 5 years? I'm guessing the plan was, give him 2 years. If he works, you keep him and the £30m was worth it. If he doesn't work, you treat the £6m like a loan fee and you recoup enough to pay off the balance.

Unfortunately, I don't think we could sell him for £18m (£30m - £6m x 2years)

Sissoko is one of those Premier League journeymen who are predestined to play for a mediocre Turkish club. Just a shame none of them will be able to afford to take him off our hands.

Isn’t that due to injuries though? I think if Dembele and Wanyama had been fit this season Sissoko would’ve made far fewer appearances.
