I wonder if they'll go for someone safe like Dan Walker or a YouTube/influencer type like Mark Goldbridge to get young viewers in.

It's a shame someone like our own Adam Smithy wouldn't get a shout, enjoy everything he does.

Laura Woods would actually be decent if she had the right co-presenters to bounce off.

Viewing habits are very different these days, not sure anyone will give a shit who presents. It will still be shit.

But the theme tune is iconic, as long as they don't mess with that, it will survive in some form.

Move Chappers to main motd, have whoever new cut their teeth on motd2. Chapman wasn't a very good presenter to start with but over the years he's become really good imo.

He's come a long way since playing second fiddle to Chris Moyles. But any grown man referring to himself as "Chappers" needs a word with themselves.

The simple and sensible choice is Mark Chapman. If the BBC wanted to go with an out of left field pick then Kate Abdo though I doubt the BBC could afford to pay what CBS is paying her. I fear the BBC will go for Alex Scott or God forbid Micah Richards to get the younger viewers in with his bantz.

Micah Richards would never be able to lead a show like that. It'd be like the excruciatingly painful times Darren Bent has lead a TalkSport show.

I reckon they should get someone with some actual opinions we can get behind, rather than a bit of laddish “bantz”… David Coote maybe.

It would have been Jenas taking over you feel given how much the Beeb loved him and his work on the One Show, so pretty glad that's not an option now.

I think overall viewing habits and everything has changed in general (hell Sky put up the PL highlights right after matches so people can watch the games pretty quickly).

Don't think the presenter change is gonna be too major and certainly not gonna be someone who lasts as long as Lineker did. Think Lineker did a great job over the years and for many he's what they see as Match of the Day given it was a quarter of a century with him leading it.
