I think the bigger question is why do media always go for the horrible arseholes as pundits?

Seems as though the more controversial / obnoxious your views are the more likely you are to be given a chance.

Started with Savage, then Barton, Collymore, Deeney, etc… it’s nice to see them go for somebody outside Utd/Liv but why do they always have to be the wind up merchants (fully expecting Vardy next)

You missed out the worst one Sutton

Because they engage people. Controversy sells.

Some controversy and prickishness is the best for business, but too much is a turn off. It's up to the broadcasters to find the right balance and to immediately act when someone steps over that line.

Yes but there is a happy medium - much better to have people on that ‘like the crack’ rather than a wet blanket like Theo Walcott!!!

Agree on that side, the likes of Walcott, Murphy, Owen & Jenas are very vanilla but there are a lot of players who can talk a good game and cover off insightful analysis on what players are trying to do. This gets you more interested and appreciative of the skill and speed involved at this level.

There's so much stuff that gets dumbed down to appeal to the masses that it would be nice to see some detailed high quality analysis for a change.

Couldn’t agree more

It’s all ‘he passed to him, who passed to him and he didn’t go with him that left space for him’ Yes we fucking know that, we’ve got eyes!!

Sean Dyche has stated they’ve thrown 3 games away this season. Not sure 3-0 and 4-0 are games that have been thrown away

Michael Oliver was on VAR at West Ham/Man Utd.

I worry for the league if he’s still seen as the best referee we have.

Much prefer Jones to having to listen to the likes of Fara Williams/Chris Sutton/Troy Deeney.

The MotD2 line up is consistently better than the Saturday programme these days.

If they pay his successor even half of what he gets they’re mad.

Nobody and I mean nobody is watching that show for the presenter.

as long as they’re competent that’s all that matters, it’s not like the punditry is ground breaking either.

I don’t know why he get’s so much hate.

He’s a good presenter and was a wonderful player for us. I only have fond memories of his 3 years with us, including our 1991 FA Cup run
