How's Mollie doing now?

Hey =) She is at GOSH tomorrow so was going to do an update when she got home. We can do it now tho!
There has been alot of med tinkering which is to be expected, especially with the anti-rejection meds, the dose can actually change weekly depending on blood test results and her weight. She has put on over a kilo and a half since coming home so she is now over her admittance weight.
In herself she is like night and day, the transformation is literally miraculous. Her recovery and her outlook is polar opposite from just over a month ago.
On the other hand, she is still 6 and is prone to being a twat... so there is that ;P

Mollie was admitted into the QA hospital at 7am Friday as she had been vomiting every half hour for 5 hours, she was blue lit but responsive to CAU (we phoned CAU after 90 mins of vomiting but were told to wait to see if she stopped naturally) alot of activity as they thought maybe she had gone into rejection, GOSH were phoned and she was battered with tests, I have never cried so much in my life as I sat there holding her small hand as she was poked and prodded. 2 blood tests, 2 cannulas, 2 swabs (nose and throat) bleach anti-biotics (causing her little bum to get sore and bleed) and all this after she had thrown up 13 times.
In the end she had caught a relatively simple stomach bug, we came out this morning and I feel empty, Mollie is actually smiling and jumping around like a looney. In for 4 days and that knifes edge we were told about nearly cut her in 2.
There was no warning, she was not unwell until she started throwing up. I am traumatised and blessed that Mollie has left it all at the Hospital door.

Only just seen this. I was going to ask how she is now. Hopefully she has fully recovered from the bug and you can relax a bit. It must have been incredibly hard for you for those four days though.

This is what I put on my Facebook page, I hadn't really updated friends during the 4 days we were in.

Hi all, I’m hoping by making this post and getting it out of me that I may feel a bit better.
We all know about Mollies medical history, the wins and the set backs, culminating in her receiving the ultimate gift of a new heart.
Friday last week she was admitted to the QA because she was throwing up every half an hour, she was tired and dehydrated. As soon as she rocked up into CAU, the tests began and in 3 days she had 2 blood tests, 2 cannulas, 2 nose and throat swabs and a course of strong anti-biotics that ripped her little bum up till she couldn’t sit, and all this right after being sicker than she or I have ever been.
She hated every test, but she was so brave, I sat there holding her hand trying to calm her down, and I could see the panic in her eyes.
It has broken me.
Friday and Saturday were alittle tense as bloods were cultured, QA were in constant contact with GOSH over her important medicines.
Sunday morning at 3:15 she was sick again, out of the blue and all over herself, cannula and bed, the nurses came in to clean and change the bed and Mollie, upset, apologised to the Nurses.
24 minutes later she was sick again, as I wiped her nose she looked alittle beaten, sure as anything 24 minutes later she opened her eyes and said her belly hurt. I grabbed the sick bowl and told her I was sorry that she was unwell, and that I couldn’t stop it, she didn’t miss a beat saying It’s ok Daddy, I’m really tired so I’m just going to sit here and wait for the sick to come.
It has broken me.
After the 3rd time the Drs decided to administer anti-sickness medication and she drifted off to sleep clasping my hand.
There is no real point to this post other than it hopefully being therapeutic for me. Mollie is home now and as well as can be expected. The miracle is that she has left everything that happened inside the walls of the QA, she is eating and drinking, playing with the cat, painting and jumping about like an idiot. Chelsea and I know how lucky she is and how lucky we are, and Mollie is beyond heroic and will always be my hero.
I’m not ashamed to say I/we are traumatised. If nothing else, if you have a child, give them an extra hug, they deserve it.

We have sessions booked with the GOSH shrinks, as well as Mollie. She has been through so much and she just leaves it in the Hospital.

As a little girl though, I have been really struggling with her, she is naughty, doesn't want to listen and is incredibly selfish. She hurt her brother the other day and was less interested in his well being and more interested in the punishment =/. Still, there is always Ebay, anyone know how much Royal Mail charge for one way to new Zealand?

Mollie is off to London tomorrow to undergo her second heart biopsy. Its been 3 months if you can adam and eve it. She has been doing really well physically and is showing no outward signs of rejection.
As a little girl though, I have been really struggling with her, she is naughty, doesn't want to listen and is incredibly selfish. She hurt her brother the other day and was less interested in his well being and more interested in the punishment =/. Still, there is always Ebay, anyone know how much Royal Mail charge for one way to new Zealand?

Yeah, they all go through stages like that and she's had a tough old time of things, so it's more likely a bit of an attention thing in one way or another.
She'll come out of it the other side and be a credit to you both, I've no doubt in that.

Mollie went to GOSH for her heart biopsy, she had her Ecg, Echo, blood tests and Tacro levels done on the Thursday, stayed over till the Friday for the biopsy. Unfortunately the surgeon booked to perform the procedure went sick and a stand in couldn't be found so the came home. Better news was that she was taken off of half of her meds, this is always an excellent sign as it means she is progressing well.
Wednesday morning she was abit warm and retreated to her *Downstairs bed* to rest and play Roblox. By 20:00 we were in Hospital and she had a 38.9 fever. They did bloods, put in a cannula, set up IV fluids and dosed her up with Calpol and cold compresses.
By Friday while the bloodwork showed a massive rise in CRP ( For arguments sake infection markers in the blood, she started at 32 and went as high as 292) she was in good spirits and Barbie came to see her.

By Saturday she had a Temperature of 39.4 and was very ill, Saturday evening her sats dropped from 98 to 86 and people kinda jumped into action.
More blood-tests, a new cannula and chest X-Ray later, her lung had collapsed. she was put on 1liter air flow and we had to start physio to get the muck off of her chest and her lung re-inflated.

Longer story short, she came home tonight with anti-biotics and a strict regime of physio.
She had a chest infection, Immune suppression is fucking scary.

Fingers crossed. It's funny how invested i am (and i suspect others are) in her outcome. She is as cute as a button. (Barbie can't hold a candle to her)

What a scary and worrying time for you all. Glad to hear she has been allowed home. And it’s lovely to see the picture of her smiling. She’s a brave little girl. I hope she soon feels better.

Sorry everyone I forgot to update this thread.
Mollie came home the Thursday after my post (we didnt get out on the 30th), she was tired and abit fed up. And then Harry left.....
She is alot better now and has her biopsy next week (It was delayed again due to her being so unwell and being pumped full of Anti-biotics). IF that goes well she could return to School around the 3/4th October.
She is very happy with how we are playing right now and her new Fave is Sonny, she does not (and these are her words not mine) she does not *respect Harry Kane anymore* for leaving. Especially as people have his name on their shirts.
