Weird how little the English press have been covering this considering that it's a pretty solid link, confirmed by pretty much everyone involved.

other way around, €55m for Dias and €15m worth of a player, in this case Otamendi, makes it €70m in value Benfica are getting.

its€55m + Otamendi? I thought it was essentially two deals, one being €55m going to Benfica then them returning €15m of it for Otamendi.

I have Ruben as my avatar, I looked into this trust me :)

So from an accounting perspective:

Manchester City incoming: Ruben Dias
City outgoing: €55m and €15m Nicolas Otamendi

thus making the Dias deal worth €70m total in outgoing value to them.

So you’re saying City are paying €15m to get rid of Otamendi? I believe what Romano is saying is that Benfica will ‘pay’ 15 for Otamendia and City will pay 55 for Dias

But he says right there, Ruben's value is €55m. I'm reading that as they're paying €40m plus Otamendi

I think we need another source but I get your point, it might just be the wording. Ruben Dias going for only €40m cash plus an over the hill defender would be a pretty incredible deal for them so I assumed it was €55m cash for Dias and then €15m valued Otamendi as well.

I know some people hate these kind of posts, but he has been liking all of Bales “joining spurs” instagram posts - and he doesn’t even follow him so he has to go a little out of his way to do it

8 days until the window closes. 0 days until our insane run of games begins. We still don’t have a backup striker and each day this deal is looking further and further away from happening. I’m starting to panic on the inside. Anyone else?

Still in discussions according to Romano. Think we all knew this though. Bit of bluster from the Inter director earlier but Conte pretty much invited a bid in with his comments. Still think we get this done.
