I would not be surprised if we were looking to cancel the loan deal as he simply doe snot fit into the team anywhere. Was it obligation to buy or option to buy?
I have been thinking about Gedson and genuinely not sure what's going on. He hasn't made the bench this season so why would we waste a squad place. Got a feeling he may head back to Portugal before the window closes. We may just be waiting to see how it all pans out. Jose's 'puzzle'.

Probably helps having Mourinho as manager.

I’m sure it does. My Inter friend and his wife, who were season ticket holders when Mourinho was there, worship the ground he walks on. Given what he won for them I’m sure that’s a widespread feeling among Inter fans so it would be unsurprising if the Inter hierarchy felt sympathetic towards Mourinho.

They deffo know nothing but meh.

Skriniar's imminent sale to Tottenham for 45 million could pave the way for the French midfielder Chelsea, although further disposals are needed, and even Smalling as a new element in defense.

I'm choosing to believe this is accurate because I like what it says and you should all do the same.

I need som insight here people ...

I don´t watch much Serie A anymore, and haven´t seen Skriniar in any matches to be honest.

I see in FIFA and FM that he´s not very fast - it seems like he has got not much pace about him, mediocre at best: 69 of 100 in FIFA, and 13 + 14 of 20 in accelaration and pace respectively in FM. I know these are just computer games, but FM is known to have one of the best scouting networks in the world, and is used by real managers and clubs to get a first impression of players.

And: Skriniar is right footed. After Jan left we´re desperately lacking of left footed natural CDs (Davies is not a natural central defender).

Sanchez has decent pace. Dier too (or he used to have: uncertain about his pace over the last season or two). Davies and Toby are defo on the slow side, Doherty is no Kyle Walker either (Aurier is slightly better in that aspect). Reguilon should have decent pace. But compared to our best season a couple of years ago when Walker and Rose covered for Jan & Toby´s lack of speed, we now have a kind of slowish back line. And with no established cover in midfield (still early days for PEH) to protect the defence, our defence is in dire need of quick legs imho.

Those of you that have seen Skriniar play and know about him, and taking in the difference of speed of play from Serie A to PL: is he quick enough to play in a slightly unprotected defence who has no Usain Bolt look a likes in it? Or is he a positional genius and does he have such a great reading of the game that he can disguise his lack of natural speed? Like Jan to some degree did at his best (and even our great Ledley)?

In short, however unrealistic it might be, I´d love us to get a fast, left footed power house of a central defender who can be the leader of our back line for many years. If not left footed, at least very comfortable in playing in the left side. Is Skriniar this player?

Honest question guys - I want to know and understand more why some are so adamant that this guys is the solution to all our problems. :)
I stopped reading by half way through the first paragraph

You can see on the youtube clips he's probably faster than both Jan and Alderweireld were (especially when you watch it at 1.5). Infact I remember Toby had the same complaints about him lacking pace. Toby that had this weird trait though where he actually knew how to defend, can you believe it!? which meant that his pace wasn't an issue.

This isn't a video game, pace does not matter as much as is seemingly made out otherwise Sanchez would be the best defender in europe. He isn't though because his fundamentals are average at best.

Look I know this clip isn't everything but I think it illustrates the point as an example of how footballing intelligence can overcome a lack of pace. Even though I think Fabregas is a colossal ****.

Pedro and Willian are without a shadow of a doubt significantly quicker than Fabregas, Fabregas however uses the old nogging and works out the best plan of action for getting the cones the quickest. Why this is relevant is because defending is way way more about positioning and anticipating and snuffing out danger. Pace is obviously a useful tool but it's one of those physical traits which frankly gets defenders who are poor at their craft out of danger by being able to recover.

They're moments when ever the best will benefit from pace but to stick your nose up at a player who clearly understands the art of defending and what's more is aggressive with how he approaches it is just so ridiculous to me.

and you know this how?

Chelsea's last planned signing according to reports is a DM, and Declan Rice is Lampard's #1 target.

EDIT: Also, as said above my post, look at the high line Chelsea are playing. If they want a CB, it almost certainly won't be Skriniar.

We are extremely lucky they have Conte. He actually prefers a 45-year old Kolarov at LCB over Skriniar, the writing is on the wall.
