I love the old school posturing of the chairman in Italy (and Aulas too). It’s like something from Wall Street, teaching you the basics of business in 1987. It’s really fun to watch and it adds some great flair and drama to the window.

At the end of the day though, they’re business men. They know the asset they have will continue to depreciate the longer he sits on the bench/gets exposed in conte’s 3 at the back system. They’ll sell for the right price. Trust in the bald boy.

i really don’t see this deal or whatever striker we have lined up being completed until some time during the last 72 hrs of the window. Just need to hope and pray we are still in at least one of the cup competitions by oct 5, and that we haven’t run half the team into the ground... esp Harry. I’m a little less worried about CB, as we have some depth there to handle the glut of games. Striker... not so much. Would have helped if Bale had joined fit and ready to roll, but he won’t be playing until mid or late October I’m guessing.

and if we do get this guy, it’ll maybe take a few months for them to acclimate. But he looks worth the investment as a long term asset, because i can see Toby maybe leaving next year.

Conte: "Then I don't know if some important offer should arrive for Skriniar, it may well be that the company will consider it. We are open to all solutions, we know what the owners said. But Milan is part of the project"

From a previous tweet:
Conte: "Skriniar? Personally, he is part of the project. Today there was a technical choice, D'Ambrosio played instead of Milan. We have many games to play. He is available and he is in the project"

Of all the transfers we have been apart of this summer, this is the one which is certainly on the knifes edge and the one I just want over the line.

their edge comes from the fact that he has a contract. and if a team fails to match the valuation they make, they can always reintegrate the player and try to make it work, assuming that relationships haven't totally collapsed. I mean, even if they are, it can drag on for a long time.

- Conte doesn't want Skriniar.

- He wants other players for whom Inter needs funds.

- So they have to sell Skriniar - and they will only do so if they compromise on price.

- Levy knows that. They know that too.

- He apparently wants to come to Spurs.

- Only thing that can stop this happening for us is a richer club in need of a defender like Skriniar coming in for him and blowing us out of the water.

I feel like we’re being strung along unless we match their asking price. This will either be a deadline day deal to us or someone else will come in for him beforehand and offer more money.

“Part of the project”...Conte hasn’t played him regularly since arriving!
Also, Dias going to Man City for €55m then Otamendi for €15m so €40m net. Could help our negotiations.

does Otamendi hold negative value?

they are valuing him at €15m. So Man city pays €55m for Dias. benfica pays €15m for Otamendi. €40 net. I personally think Dias is a little better and his situation at Benfica very different than Skriniar at Inter since he doesn’t play.

other way around, €55m for Dias and €15m worth of a player, in this case Otamendi, makes it €70m in value Benfica are getting.

You have that the wrong way round. If Man City give Benfica £55 million plus Otamendi valued at £15 million, that makes Dias’ value £70 million.
