TEAM FORM ___Middlesbrough _ LWWWW _____ Spurs _ WLWDL __ (All Competitions)

We and Middlesbrough have never met in the FA Cup since 1966, a 4-0 victory for us. Boro has been eliminated on each of the tree occasions they have faced us in the FA Cup. Boro have been eliminated from 8 of their last 9 FA Cup ties against Premier league opponents, progressing only against Man City in January 2015 in this run.

We have won our last three matches against Boro, last facing them in February 2017 in the Premier League. We have progressed from 38 of our last 40 FA cup ties against non-top flight opponents, failing only against Leicester in January 2006 and Leeds in January 2013.

This is Mourinho's first FA Cup match since the 2018 final 1-0 against Chelsea as Man Utd Manager. He has won 13 of his 14 FA Cup matches against lower league opposition, losing only to Bradford City in January 2015 with Chelsea

I have a horrible feeling that we are getting to be victims of a cup upset.
Be fair, you have that feeling every week - enjoy it for what it is, a cup day. Just imagine next weekend against Liverpool, in prime time, at home with the world watching and Spit the Dog commentating on us on Sky ...

If we don't beat these I'm finished with Spurs for this season!

This will be Middlesborough playing a well drilled team against our disjointed, never played together, starting 11 so can only see a loss.
Imo we havent got a chance of winning the fa cup anyway. Not a chance. I wouldn't be confident even if we had Middlesborough in the final!

Not every week mate but I do get a lot of the calls right as in I said we wouldn't beat either Norwich or Southampton but I get your point, as for the Liverpool game I can't wait for the world wide audience to laugh at us getting taken apart by a team who two seasons previously had been finishing below us. :joyful: :joyful:

Yeah, I'm good for it to happen. People will be too busy celebrating come the end of the season than to remember the result. It's numbers in a digital book after it happens.

Same as Middlesbrough.

I went to uni in Boro in the 90s and my oldest son was born there so I have a bit of a soft spot for them. I'm hoping though for the same scoreline as they used to get whenever I went to see them play a southern team in a cup game 1-2 to Spurs ?

I can’t decide if we will play our awful, disjointed, terrible style of this season and go out immediately...

or, play our awful, disjointed, terrible style of this season but scrape a draw only for them to beat us at our own stadium.

Son will be on fire tomorrow and everyone steps up when Kane is not around, so we will win tomorrow, no worries. But ultimately, we will not win the FA Cup this season.
