Yeah let's not write him off because he couldn't make it at one of the biggest clubs in the world, he needs to mature - I said at the time that a coach like Poch represented the best move for him and that's still the case.

Sorry, what makes you say he is an excellent player? Looked painfully average in holland and at international level, so I was glad we didn't sign him anyway. I just don't get views like yours...despite the fact that he has not done anything of note for the last few years, a long time in football, you say he is an excellent player and yet players like Eriksen or Sissoko have a few bad games and they are rubbish and need to be sold...

If he has been purchased by Southampton, and achieved what he has for United, i.e. nothing... you would not be wanting us to sign him.

Depay has been an appalling signing for United and has a terrible attitude. We would have to be mad to be in for the player.

Erm... Vincent Janssen was also top scorer in the Eredivisie, based on what he has shown thus far, I don't really class it as a benchmark of footballing ability.

As was Suarez so not really sure what your point is...also you said he was average in the Dutch league - how can he be average when he finished top scorer and won the young player of the year?

As in a footballer of average ability... not the average dutch player. After all the hype about him at PSV I watched him play about 15 times before he signed for United and he didn't appear in any way impressive as a footballer .

Not really sure what you were looking for then, he looked a really good prospect really good technical ability, skiilfull great at free kicks, shooting and that burst of acceleration. Definitely has the talent to make it at the top level.

His problem right now is mental, he needs to mature first of all, Utd are too big a club for him. I have no doubt that had he come to Spurs last season we'd be seeing some of the form he displayed at PSV.

I don't think we should judge him for his time at United. Let's be real - United have been average or below average attacking in the last few years.

He could thrive here, but we need a serious cut-rate bargain.
