Can’t rewatch my early games at the Lane as we didn’t have tv back in mid 50s. So no camera footage to watch again.
Things I remember like going into a greengrocers and borrowing an orange crate so I could see the game I was only 8 or 9 If the crowd was really big I would be passed over the heads of the other supporters and sit in front of the wall behind the goal Paxton Road end. Along with others my size. Stopped us being crushed and helped us see the game. Happy days.
Remember being in front of the Royal for the bus parade after winning the double.
Memories forever getting fainter. ?

Dave Syretts finest hour pissed down again

I had never seen that - wasn't at the game for once. Some things just stay the same with our Spurs and slip-ups.

I honestly thought we were going to blow promotion by that stage of the 2nd Div season.

Managed to find a 30 second shot of the Hull game at home that season - that night was such an important win and it was packed

We went to Mansfield and it poured down we paid to get into the seats posh in them days and the gutter collapsed and we got wetter than anyone else on the coach on the way home

Funny thing was we went over the Arsenal for a reserve game just after that and Daines did the same thing again - there is also a youtube bit of his overhead kick at Bristol Rovers he werent a lucky keeper and all that with one of the worst perms in history

pllayed against him a good few years later scored as well - pearler in the top corner - Ralph said it was a great goal didn't like to tell him it was a cross - he could spot talent that man

He's been gone 10 years now. RIP.

He had a lot of connection with Hertford where I lived in the UK, the man who owned the house two doors up from me a Turkish guy was his mucker. They were always together on the local football scene. The Turkish guys son was Omer Riaz (sp?) who played one game for Arsenal I think but ended up managing Orient at one point.

I was going through the back room this week and came across Ronnie Burgess autobigraphy - the old boys used to tell me that he was the best Spurs player ever and they had some good ones to compare against

You've all seen it, but this was the first time I ever became aware of Tottenham Hotspur, and that football was much more than that boring shite my Dad watched:

It isn't hyperbole to say that seeing this on the telly, changed my life forever.

That's a great watch. If you look, around the 3 minutes 10 second point, there is a woman, presumably Erik's wife, shearing the hedge in her bikini. (y)

I hope it can't be proven that I actually went back and had another dekko at 3m just to check ?

I don't remember seeing him play but he has a really good reputation, must be a good read. Can remember players like Mel Hopkins, Johnny Brookes, ( had a lapel badge with him on it) little Tommy Harmer, Tony Marchi, Dave Dunmore, players who weren't regular first team players. Terry Medwin along with Cliff Jones and Terry Dyson competing for the wingers position. Some great times even Maurice Norman as right back. before he became the centre half that earned him international caps.
Flash backs come and go but the love stays.
