...but I'm still puzzled about that thats-not-a-corner-thats-a-throw-in-decision!

Ok, we won, the incident didn't cost us the game, but in terms of weirdness - I hold that decision as unexplainable and weird as Pedro Mendes "goal" at OT, or Graham Polls tripple-booking in the World Cup!

How could anyone possibly be so blind? Or did he see something we didn't?

It was pretty amazing. If it had been against Hull, I expect the crowd would have gone nuts and he'd have spoken to his assistant then reconsidered.

Keano's face was priceless.

Thing is it could have been crucial - we were winning at the time, they were struggling with corners especially and it could easily have led to another goal.

The non-corner incident, plus a few bookings that never happened (the one where a Hull player went straight through the back of JJ in the second half), the foul against Cudicini before their goal, all contributed to a pretty poor refereeing performance.

I'd love it if just for once a Ref would make a statement after the game saying "Yeah I got it wrong, Sorry !"

But there is more chance of me getting a whale up my arse

The refs have been shocking again this season. Its like the decisions Man Utd got against Blackburn. The Premier League is full of top class players, so we should have top class refs. Maybe we should get some younger refs who can keep up to speed with the modern day game.

That Palacios shot that hit Gardner drove me mad too! would have been a cracking goal.

Too right it would. And typical of Gardner to be so big to stop it. How the hell Palacios hasn't scored in England is beyond me.

I still can't understand why Keane was pulled up twice for turning players, witha a little arseistance. I thought the ref was pretty poor.

I know I was watching it on TV but another thing that struck me was the lack of ball boys at Hull or were they all stuck behind the advertising boards?

standard of refereeing is getting worse i feel. however the players do not make it easy falling round the place like girls.

was watching the 81 cup final replay v city and was great to see proper tackles and players getting on with it. no diving or rolling around the pitch.

I've seen it a few times now, Gardner bobs his head down and meets the ball. If he meant to head it then it was a very brave piece of defending and I praise him for it but I reckon he was trying to duck under it as he knew how hard it had been hit.

A shame he didn't stand his ground against Nani's shot at OT last season, really.

I disagree - that Gerry Gow tackle on Ardiles in the first 5 seconds was not great. If it had happened today he would have had the fastest ever red in a Cup Final. The ref wouldn't even have had to take his whistle out of his mouth.
