Agree.

Or he could be another Clyne or Callum Chambers.

I dont think we should pay out of our boots for him. 30m seems a lot for a player who haven’t shown THAT much - yet.
Even if he fails to hit the heights we'd want him to after signing, we could still sell him for the same price we'd need to pay for him now. That's the benefit of buying young, home-grown players (particularly those nearing the end of their contracts).

If the £30m valuation is true, it's a pretty low risk signing in all honesty.

Surely no way Norwich are selling him for £30m. Wan-Bissaka was £50m wasn't he?

Is that the case though?? If he comes to Spurs and is underwhelming, the club's that can afford to pay £30m for a RB won't want him.

Exactly. He's just not good enough for us. And this has nothing to do with his football ability - he's just not physically developed enough to cope with men's football.
He's not that physically different from Robertson and TAA, the best fullbacks in the league. His growth was stunted by lack of playtime.

Not 100% sure but there was talk of a potential relegation release clause, which would make sense given he signed a new contract after interest in him from big clubs, so perhaps given survival looks unlikely they'd cash in now?

I even want to give myself an optimistic rating having written that.

Pretty much every PL club can afford to pay £30m these days. We must be confident enough in him that he couldn't possibly fail to such an extent that no PL club would take a chance on him. Even Jack Rodwell can still find a PL side willing to give him a shot!

not true at all. Would be 2 years older and stock much lower.
I should have added that I've made the assumption that the £30m valuation is accurate. I don't think we'd struggle to sell him for that in 2 years, personally, unless something went dramatically wrong. He'd still be a 22 year old homegrown full back with a lot of potential.

I fail to see how Aarons will improve us. Never stuck out to me in the games I've seen him in. Are there really no better options out there?

Honestly I really don't get it.. from what i've seen KWP has a better all round game to Aarons only that Aarons has been given games to iron out.

Agree, bogle seems to much more talented, younger but less fashionable than Aaron’s.

Agreed. A bit baffled he doesn’t seem to be higher on the list, although in fairness, our professional scouts should be a lot better than me on YouTube.

Just havent been that impressed with Aaron’s in any of the games I’ve seen. Looks like a KWP clone. Very small and seemingly few special skills.

Would think the deal would be a lot easier for bogle too.

Why are people constantly referencing this 19 year old Bogle? Honest question. Haven't seen him play at all. Meanwhile Aarons has more than held his own in the Prem at virtually the same age. Aarons played very well against us a few weeks back also and looks like he has a ton of room to grow and get better.

Maybe I’m in the minority but I think Aurier is really coming along under Mourinho so RB, whilst still important, is not the same kind of priority as CDM, CM and even ST, IMO.

Aarons looks a nice player, well rounded as a full back. Not been blown away but would be happy to see him come in as a more viable rotation option to what KWP has been. Even if he is a bloody Chelsea fan.

It’s still a scattergun approach. ITK’s have linked us 2 confirmed right backs whereas Herc’s has referred to another Portuguese player which a lot of us think it’s a previously linked via ITK Barca right back. The 3 players implies planning but if you look at it:

- one is now EPL proven
- one has only played circa 20 1st team games in the championship and they’re split across both left and right back
- one is an established international playing albeit as a squad player for one of the best teams in the world

It’s one extreme to another.

Do you mean Nathaniel Clyne who was excellent for Southampton and Liverpool until he got a nasty injury and Trent Alexander-Arnold took his chance? Clyne who was also a full England international and pushing Kyle a walker hard for the right back spot?

Where did the last post go? Seems to have disappeared which was speculating over a certain Portuguese player that we could be looking at.
