The same West Brom that didn't play Serge Gnabry (on loan from Arsenal) who just won player of the season at Bayern. Probably doing it to be salty at him not signing a new contract.

Thanks for that comprehensive scouting report... Yeah you probably right. I did think of the contract ending but also considered the drawn out process of going to a tribunal to work out a compensation. So was clinging to the hope we were going the route of negotiating on good faith with his club VS knicking him on the cheap.

Edit. Now I really hope we interested after giving the report a second read. First saw a article on us linked in early April I think.
When signing young players like this it's often best to try and settle outside of tribunal, so could still apply.
We'd likely still negotiate with the club, as there would be an unknown compensation fee and add ons, and I don't think Levy likes to operate on unknowns. Not if it can be avoided.

When Danny Ings was out of contract at Burnley, we made a bid to the club.

Liverpool ended up taking him without knowing the fee for 9 months, which ended up being £8m, I believe in one payment, and 20% profit sell on clause.

That was 2015 money, though on the other hand Ings was an established PL player, so hard to gauge the compensation fee for Harper.

But you'd have to expect Levy will want to have it fixed, budgeted for, and control the payment terms and clauses.

You are, of course, all right. So Harper's back on!

Aarons has been promoted from number 37 to number 2 for Norwich this season.

Wonder if means he’s more likely to stay?

Im somewhat “fortunate” to be close with someone that works for Norwich, he says it’s 50/50 whether Aaron’s stays and signs a new contract or whether he’ll be leaving. I definitely got the impression Norwich wouldn’t be opposed to him leaving. No mention if clubs have enquired, we moved swiftly onto the good business that we (Spurs) have been doing.

Also Godfrey has apparently signed a new contract. Dunno if that’s already been announced as I have very little interest in Norwich.

When I get a chance tomorrow il ask if we’ve put in any enquires.

I really want Aarons, but having him as first choice next season would be concerning. He’s 19 and never played a minute of Prem football let alone CL.

Physically I wouldn't say it's much of a concern. The Championship is a very physical league and is a 46 game season, so lots of midweek games. Norwich also play an attacking style.

Talent wise reports from Norwich are that he's the real deal, and didn't he make the team of the season too? If TAA and AWB can perform in the PL at the same age I'd certainly wager Aarons could too. Plus we know Poch likes to have more than one RB anyway.

Palace linked with a £10m bid in The Mirror, if true that's a bit fresh considering how pissy they've been about Arsenal lowballing.

It is the game...
Buying club: Ask for a player
Selling club: Ask for a large amount
Buying club: Bid well below that amount
Selling club: Be publically "appalled" at the bid
Rinse and repeat.

It's why when people on here start throwing tantrums when stories about Levy bidding 40m euros for NDombele or Lo Celso I roll my eyes.

Oh I know, it's been this way for years, especially with us. Just feels a bit rich considering (very) recent developments at Palace.

@SpursTillIDie1882 here we are - wanna explain your baseless opinion on Max Aarons? Sorry for trying to bait you into spamming the ITK thread. I just wanted to get you banned from here so badly.
