The club have spoken today about taking the emotion out of the decision. I'd be gobsmacked if they then went and hired Poch now.

Can't see it .
I don’t expect it to be him either. But for different reasons.
I wouldn’t necessarily say re-hiring Poch as an entirely emotional appointment.
He did oversee the best Spurs team I’ve personally ever seen. Plus the squad might suit him.
But I agree I’d be shocked.

I just can't see it happening right now and to be honest, I'm not sure if it should.

My daughter is spending the summer in Nashville, and I almost drove down to see her and watch the match - glad I stayed home...

I can visit another time!

Whisper it quietly, but is Poch done as a top tier manager?
Not done, but his resume over the past 5 years certainly would not put him in the camp of a top manager anymore in terms of results v expectations. It's more his history as far as pedigree of teams coached that keeps him relevant for now.

Yes/no/maybe.

He is not cut out for International football.

He needs to be at a young-ish team where he can coach more than manage.

But, seriously - these are the back-ups for the US B team - and they really are not very good.

gonna repost from the other thread..

dude im watching this shit pumping right now and it is bad.... TBF its a majority of USA back ups but still... They showed Poch after the 3rd or 4th went in and he look bewildered and embarrassed. I think he knows this appointment was the nail in the coffin of his coaching career ever at the top flight again unless he goes to a Brighton or something and rehabs his coaching image because JEEZ.

agreed on this USA team is not very good and honestly he needs time with the players to work in his system, he's not an international manager or Spain where half of the team play together at either Madrid or Barcelona for the most part (at least in years past). International is just simple systems that tend to be defensive

He should’ve never got into international management, doesn’t suit him. Also he took a job with a team that has a bad squad.

Personally, I thought he did a good job at Chelsea. I think Maresca had actually regressed that team vs where MP had them at the end of his term.

I don't think so, but he's made HORRIBLE choices in terms of where to manage since Spurs. Needs to go back to the Premier League and see if he can get the job at West Ham, Everton, Fulham, Wolves, or return to Spain with Sevilla or Athletic Bilbao. Man is in desperate need of soul-searching. And by performing this badly with the USA, he's definitely not convincing the Argentine FA of ever choosing him to succeed Scaloni one day.

He could have gone anywhere in Europe really of he'd waited.

He needs a specific project. A young team he can shape his way and train like maniacs.

He had very little to gain from this move and I do think he needs an advisor cause he's made some strange moves

Plus with the greatest respect, this isn't just a dump on CONCACAF jibe as I am somewhat of a fan of Asian football and hate how it and its teams are dismissed out of hand just because, but the likes of Turkey and Switzerland are solid solid teams and not the level of Honduras or whoever the US would playing in their usual qualifying cycle at this point.

Couple that with rotating etc and as you say Poch simply not being a national coach and you get this. Is he also bought in fully do you think? Just in general and not in a notice me Senpai Spurs sense.
