Hypothetically it'd be like digging up the childhood dog to have one last game of fetch.

Spoiler alert: they don't fetch. Hypothetically.

I guess we're all entitled to an opinion....well here's mine. How the hell is he a snake?! Levy fired him! What is he supposed to do? The guy is a football manager and he went to manage another club after he was fired. Had he been offered the Chavs job when he was still with us and Levy did what he could to keep him, I would have a bit of animosity towards the guy but that was not the case. Since being fired he's not said anything negative about the club unlike some other managers.

Yes we need to move on, his time came and went but to be calling the guy a snake, considering what he did at the club with limited resources, I wish him all the success in his career.
Right on! This club has been an absolute fucking parody since Poch left.

I agree in principle, but I just can't back the manager if I think he's the wrong man. I just don't see it ever working unfortunately, but that's for a whole number of reasons. The major one for me though is no strong philosophy manager that requires all the moving parts to fit will ever succeed under our board, regardless of what the philosophy is.

does he need time or does he need money?

with time I think we prob are not far from having all the moving parts the problem is some of the parts are 17-19 years old atm

Do you want Ange to succeed?

sadly I think we will be taken over and he will be kept till then

Man I miss the Poch era. It's the only time in my 40 year period supporting Spurs that I felt we were actually competitors and on top of that playing real top quality football.

Deciding to spend nothing for 2/3 transfer windows rather than backing him was our sliding doors moment.

The togetherness of the club and fan base was like nothing I’d seen before and will never be repeated

Still waiting for someone to even come close to what he gave us. He didn't accept the we aren't good enough mentality....he made us good enough. Still the best 5 seasons including the ups and downs I have experienced as a Tottenham fan.

I wait for the day someone does what he did. You can count the trophies all you want, if he was backed when we were challenging then he could have crossed the finishing line.

Fucking tragedy that we didn't win anything during that period. I can understand not wanting to go back to Poch but I'll never understand anybody who doesn't look back on that period fondly and appreciate the job he did here.

This. I just don't understand why some fans bitch about him. Nobody since has got us to the level he did, despite spending way more than he did season on season.

Thought experiment: if we'd kept Poch for the past five years, would we have been better off?

None of the senior players would have survived, they’d have been completely burnt out.
We weren't really playing full throttle football by the end though. This is assuming he wanted to stay and was given time to rebuild the squad.

My assumption is our summer 2019 doesn't look as catastrophic as he actually gets some time with those players - I don't think any become world beaters, but they offer something. I think Jack Clarke gets a look in too. I reckon Kane leaves earlier but Dele's involved with the team for longer. I imagine we try to bring in some other DoFs like Paratici but I don't know if Poch gels with him. I don't think we'd have ever had the capacity to completely revamp the side because it's different to when he came in because they were his lads, but I think COVID would've been quite a useful rest for him - and given him time to find his energy again.

I dunno. All speculation innit.
