I wonder if he just thought it might be an interesting experience for him and his team - no more complicated than that?
You know what after the rubbish he had to deal with at PSG and Chelsea I’m not surprised he’s taken it, I actually think it’s a sensible move.
It’ll give him a bit of security and he can then lead a host nation into a WC, how many managers get the opportunity to do that, after the WC he can then assess his options.
He might well have decided he’s had enough of club management and he’ll do the US gig and retire from it.

Rumblings he'll be at both games also. But yeah wouldn't surprise me if he jumps to United(though I think they are dumb enough to have Southgate lined up) or back here if either job comes available.

I'd seriously hope USSF would include serious financial penalties for resigning to join a club before the World Cup.

Well it might not be official yet & knowing this federation, it could quite easily fall apart but at least on the pitch, they look like they are moving forward with Pochettino at the helm. The interim manager is starting with a very Pochettino like 4231 with no Matt Turner & Cardoso starting next to Musah(which I think will be Poch's preferred midfield). We've heard Poch has been heavily involved in the roster selection as well.

Why isn't it official? Seems a bit odd that...
I've got no clue. It's been the next 48 hours for the last week. 2 weeks ago it was the next 1-2 weeks. Wouldn't be shocked if it falls through at this point.

Not Cardoso's best game by any means. Maybe the worst I've seen him play. Bad showing.

Hope it goes really well for him.

I'm so glad the Chelsea move didn't go so well (he will be nothing more than a footnote therw) and now I can get back to wishing him well.

There was a time when his return would have been right. It’s gone. The only change we need right now is our attitude when things aren’t going our way. Enough of this bullshit of hounding out a manager and looking for the next vicitm. Back the manager, ride the rollercoaster and maybe we’ll be able to build something with Ange. It’s the only good option we have with Levy in charge as he and ENIC are Spurs fans’ biggest obstacle.

My post was an attempt to bring a bit of light humour into this place as it was so miserable last night.

I'm still fully behind Ange, despite last night's awful performance.
