Ade played well after he retuned from exile and his scoring record over the second half of the season was superb. When you look at the options we have given our limited funds and not being able to offer CL football, then Ade is as good a striker than anyone we could hope to attract to the club at this moment in time.

All depressingly true.

Good start by Poch IMO. Seeing as Ade was one of the (very) few players who vocalized their support for TS, I think coming in and supporting our top-scoring striker is a step in the right direction and shows the rest of our senior players that rather than tear everything up and start again, MP is willing to build on what we have.

What worries me most about that article is the implication that if a good offer comes in, Levy will sell.

Selling the striker that your new manager wants to build the team around is about as bad a start to the chairman/manager relationship as you can get.

It's also the reason why we will never go on to have lasting success until we stop putting obstacles in front of our managers.

A motivated Ade can fit that system perfectly. It will all come down too how he and poch get along.

The good thing is though I think poch is pretty decisive. So during pre season if ade isn't buying into the whole thing I can see him going.

I'm pretty hopeful that won't happen though. In that system he could be the main man and while he has to work hard he will also get lots of goals.

I thoroughly agree, sire. At this present moment, there are no better options available for a team with no CL football. Hopefully, we can sell Soldado and get someone in who can put pressure on Ade!

If Pochettino wants to recreate the style of attack he had at Southampton, with a big target man, then Ade is probably one of the best you're going to find. And if you big him up from the off and get him on your side then he'll play for you.. purely because he's an egotistical twat and he only plays for himself... but if it works then hey!

These are the key facts IMO, and most probably true.

Dont worry about anything being written in newspapers without quotes.

Is Pooch aware that Adebayor stands to lose over 50% of his salary next season if he stays?
That is a tricky problem to resolve, as I doubt Levy will make up the difference.

As unplayable as Ade can be on his day, I think we'd be foolish to sell Soldado after just one season. I think he can be special for us...

Ade could play for any team in the league .

Suarez will do well to maintain his effectiveness in this league for as long as Ade has maintained his .

Van Persie can do more with a ball when it comes to shooting but Adebayor is quicker over the ground with the ball and more difficult to dispossess .

Will be very glad if he stays .

It's Levy's default. He's unlikely to chnage that. If the price is right he will sell. Another good season from Eriksen and the vultures will circle and Levy will sell. You only have ti look to the players we have lost for proof of that.

Yeah, I know. That's why despite the article being speculation, it's entirely believable :(.

Anything and everything about Ade is a gamble. We all know when he wants to and when he puts in a shift he's a fantastic player. This is not the problem. His high earnings and someone so tempremental- to build a team around him seems crazy. He's a journey man and the highest bidder will secure his services then it could be back to square one again.
Also if a bid comes in then Mr Levy will look at all options and he could be off. I really hope this is a non-starter and that if he stays and it's a big if from me- then sure he can be a starter but not a focal point of next season.
