Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has now made Mauricio Pochettino his first-choice option to replace Ange Postecoglou as manager this summer, according to TBR Football.

Spurs have had a horrible campaign this season with 18 Premier League defeats leaving them in 16th place in the table, although they have reached the Europa League semi-finals to keep their hopes of playing Champions League football next season alive.

We can appoint someone in the mean time it’s not like managers come to the club expecting the long term.
Ancelotti might be available. Exactly the right sort of high profile manager I'm not sure would do very well here... Perfect then! :cautious:

He’s the only manager that will take the heat off of levy and the board. Unless he brings in a name like pep (which obviously won’t happen) half the fan base will be against a manager for varying reasons. It’s where we have got to purely because deep down every fan knows the bigger problem. Some will see past it short term in the right manager is brought in - others won’t - hence you get the divide.

poch is the only one that may buy levy the time he needs to get his sale (or partial sale)

it’s not a coincidence the term EBITDA was mentioned in the last set of financial results.

Interestingly (well I find it interesting ha) Bruce Arena has spoken out against Mopo being the US manager
Arena is highly regarded out there and I imagine he still has some connections to the US FA, I wonder if this is the start of them communicating him being replaced.....

Do we even have the money to buy Poch out of his contract, let alone Levy being willing to do it?

I've said this before, but it bears repeating - this is a terrible reason to hire Poch.

In an ideal world, the Board/Levy/Venkatesham hires the best manager for this squad, at this stage of their development. What the fans "want" should not be a factor in the decision.

(And, I am 100% Poch in)

Whilst you are correct - that’s an ideal ‘football world’ something unfortunately our board are incapable of - too many far more important factors!
