We caught up for a quick chat with Mauricio Pochettino as he took time out from a hectic week at the Training Centre since taking over as our new Head Coach.

Wonder how some players will get on with them double training sessions lol ....guess it will show those that want to play ...and those that what an easy ride.
I have a good feeling about this guy ....read a lot of posts/interviews from Southampton players /fans about Poch and they are all glowing about him ....the players mention a lot about the double sessions and how they got pushed to the limit during them ....but most said how it helped them in the game and looking back can see how much its helped them improve as a player and their fitness levels.

Just hope our players buy into this and give it their all ......

COYS ....can't wait till next season now ......:)

Nice interview. Good so see that he's ditched the translator and that he's English is fine.

Also, good to see that he's taken Freund on as part of his team.

Let's not forget that AVB and Ramos both had double training sessions, AVB ditched them after a lot of discontent.

Double training is probably used at the beginning of the season, but rescinded later on. I doubt changes are made because of discontent.

So much for him not speaking English ! He speaks it better than some of the English players ! I imagine that the no speaky de English was deliberately done by Southampton so he wouldn't be misquoted by the press. Anyway welcome to Tottenham Mauricio I hope your stay here will be a long and successful one.

It was good to see he had a sense of humour when they mentioned two sessions and he said 'No, three'.....something AVB struggled with.

I feel we have a coach with the tactical/coaching acumen of AVB but with people skills.

Nice to hear Ossie got in touch with MoPo, but hope he didn't offer advice on tactics and formations

I always felt it a bit of a myth that AvB was sound tactically. Yes, he was a tactical manager, but his tactics didn't really work. In his 2 seasons we were only able to score with Bale crackers, penalties or the odd long shot. We barely created an open chance at all. The high line was also not suited to the players we had and was constantly exposed by competent sides.

Yes...we do/did lack some creative players, but I think they have more creativity than is being showcased. The tactics restricted them and it was obvious they were playing as instructed.

It will be interesting to see how we will go with Porch. I for one don't mind us conceding some goals as long as we created some genuine chances (not half chances) and score goals.

We need to be as fit and full of running as the lesser teams who use their better fitness to even the advantage our better players give us.

Hopefully we can get to the fitness levels that reduce the better player advantage the top 3-4 have over us.
