Shame the source is team talk, as brozovic would be a brilliant signing. Off the radar, and doable because of inters transfer targets.
Teamtalk citing Corriere dello Sport which has essentially linked us to every midfielder at Inter

44m is his release clause (50m euro), although inter were reported to be offering him a new contract in mid July with no clause.

Actually mentioned Brozovic earlier in the thread. Inter have been trying to do a new deal as he has a release clause of around £40m. Obviously have to see if more info comes out but it's something I could see us going for.

I assumed they'll keep the Croatian contingent together if they are going for Modric though, and I'm not sure if he'd want to leave.

Looked good in the DM role for Croatia at the World Cup but also has a pass and shot on him so would be interesting for sure.

60m for a player that isn't world class is a bit of a stretch. (...) He's unfortunate to have Modric, Rakitic and Kroos as his direct competition (...) I still think he can be world class at some point but 60 for a player that is back up and barely plays is over inflated.

Eh...Rakitic plays for FC Barcelona..?

I was talking about Croatia and real Madrid.
OK. Didn´t really read like that, but fair enough.

In my humble opinion being behind Modric & Kroos at RM, and Modric & Raktic in the national side, puts Kovacic in the same bag as all other players in the world, as those three mentioned are arguably the best three players in the world in that position. I´m not saying that Kovacic is the fourth best CM in the world, though. But I think he could be phenomenal in the PL - and for us. A central midfield with Kovacic and Eriksen and with Dier/Wanyama as the enforcer behind them - that is a midfield that stands up against anyone in Europe. And has a 5-8 year future in it.

Apologies for quoting my own post. John Terry the year before.

So 3 of the last 4 years the Premier League winners have had an Academy player...
I think the point was as a starting player. Christensen hasn’t been a part of any title-winning side, and King wasn’t a starter for Leicester in their title-winning season. Recent examples I can think of are a few at United - Fletcher, Rafael and Cleverly were all starters in title-winning seasons. Naming the likes of Terry, Neville, Brown, O’Shea, Beckham, Scholes and Giggs is definitely going too far back to be a relevant point; all broke through at least 17-18 years ago.

To be fair I’m not sure this is an entirely valid argument against bringing through academy players. Chelsea and City have won a lot of titles recently; both are awful at bringing through academy players, and that sways the stats, but correlation is not causation. Looking at the talent in the big academies, it won’t be very long before an academy player plays a huge part in a title-winning season. That player could be Kane, it could be Foden, it could be Loftus-Cheek, Christensen and Hudson-Odoi at Chelsea, or Lingard and Rashford at United, or Trent at Liverpool. But it will happen, and probably not just once.

Knew where you stood with Teletext. Not like the internet, that place is full of untrustworthy fucks.

Not always - pretty sure Teletext fed me a couple of lies before: agreeing deals deal to sign Martin Petrov and Damien Duff spring to mind!
