Christ I remember all that Kelmsley and Commolli bollocks. Jol is right, he got fucked over, and tbh he would have got us CL before Harry did.

Ah well.

It was a real turning point when Jol took over. Took us a while and a few blips to develop consistency but we really were a shambles until he rocked up.

Such a surreal atmosphere that game against getafe, and you could see he was visibly moved when everyone was singing stand up for Martin jol, one of my fave managers behind poch. Always loved him for squaring upto wenger that tome at Highbury! He so would of broke him on two ?

Met him a couple of times and he was indeed a really nice guy, did his bit in the restructure that finally got us acting like a modern football club with a plan and long term vision, tried to play football in the right way, quite a lot of flaws though and couldn't have taken us any further in my opinion.

He's worried about us for this tie. He talks up quite a few of their lot, and reckons we can't start with llorente. He's probably right. And sissoko's fitness seems key.

Can't imagine there's a Tottenham supporter who wouldn't shake his hand and thank him unreservedly for his contribution to our ten-year climb from mediocrity. We're in a CL semi-final tomorrow night but the long road back started under his management.

I read his thoughts on the tactical approach to tomorrow's game with interest. Love that he said 'as a Spurs man' even though he's managed both clubs. One of our own.
