I suppose he would challenge for LCB - could he play LB in our system? Don't know too much about him, but getting quality, experienced players is rarely a bad idea!

Is he better than Davies as LCB / LB cover? Or more suited to Ange’s style?

I’ve always found Ben pretty dependable as cover - if not overly dynamic.

Would be a good move for us, offers experience, can play LCB and LB, recently moved to CAA Base and obviously free.

However, not entirely sure how we fit him into our European squad, unless we are maybe preparing to let Davies go? Looks like we already have to sell/loan 4 players just to register what we currently have, and if we're still looking at a RW/Eze/potential midfielder, it seems a lot of work still to do in the final few weeks.

I don't envy Ange/Lange having to deal with the homegrown rules in Europe, hopefully we'll have a few more club trained players in the next few years to help.

Has anybody appraised his suitability for Ange's style of football yet... I don't get excited about any player till we have had 15 pages of discourse

He sounds a bit like Lenglet to me after reading this:

Error prone and he’s way north of our recruitment team’s usual age profile. Would be underwhelming personally.

Free though and a position of need so may be necessary for other targets.

Whichever club lands Hermoso will have to account for his positional deficiencies, including his issues with composure and concentration, and a new coach will have to reshape their defense to mirror the 3-5-2 formation that has gotten the most out of the player during his time at Atlético. However, Hermoso has shown his ability when those conditions are met — he has long been Simeone’s best on-ball defender, and his superb passing range has transformed the way Atleti build play from the back. His leadership has also been praised — he captained the team last season and has been a popular figure in the dressing room.

I'm assuming the data shows he'd fit in well in the inverted lb role

Hmmm a 28 year old who plays as a LCB in a back three, being brought in to play LCB/LB in Ange's back four. I feel like him being a free agent might be playing a big part in our interest. If someone has watched him a lot can they let us know if he is even suited to us please?

This one seems a no-brainer. Free, can cover a couple of positions, can obviously defend well (Simeone wouldn't have started someone 45 times last season who couldn't!). Probably an incremental upgrade on the current cover (Davies), so if we get 2/3 years out of him then get it done.

He is great in buildup, better than VDV and Dragusin, but not a great defender and won't help much with set pieces. Romero's passing helps us a lot so I can see why we are interested in someone who can do similar, when we are in possession at least.
