I disagree. I think a lb/lcb hybrid is the most important thing to get. We’re a single injury from being fully stretched in the back in a season we have more fixtures. A good winger helps for sure but we have a big high risk hole in the squad that could derail the whole season.

As far as wages are concerned, we sold/got rid of Kane, Lloris, Ndombele (paid him off), Hojbjerg, even Bale earlier on, and not really recruited players on similar wages as far as you’d imagine. Maybe I’m wrong? We should have the threshold to offer big wages if the right player were to become available.

We should be looking at players who want to earn their way into the CL, rather than ones who will only join if we're already there.
