I don't really believe the links because I thought he'd have been right up Motta's streets

But absolutely yes please.

We would progress the ball so much better and quicker as he's capable of passing his way out of the press rather than try to glide past players first like Bissouma. He can also switch play and get the ball into the final third quicker.

He would dictate things alongside Bergval/Bentancur.

But perhaps more importantly, he is superb off the ball and covering ground/stealing the ball off opponents. Much more aggressive than anyone we have.

A couple of weeks ago Motta said anyone that wasn’t involved in a friendly against Brest wouldn’t be in his plans for the season. This confirmed the rumours about Juve wanting to sell Chiesa. However Locatelli started that game and started the friendly against Atletico at the weekend. I’m not saying that means he’s definitely staying. We played Emerson Royal in our friendlies this pre season and he’s gone but I think Motta still plans on playing him this season.

can't see this deal happening unless we sell at least 2 of Bissouma, Bentancur and Skipp (Lo Celso will be gone anyway)

It's Don time. I think we've realised the transfer committee has failed, and we need a bit of pizazz to save the window. I smell a Chiesa and Locatelli double. God save the Don.
Who said he wasn’t already around working hard to push one or two deals under the radar?
these stories don’t come out from Juve unless there’s something tangible already going on.

When the Don work's, you know. Silence is a commodity he doesn't trade in, he love's the noise.

Anyway I've heard it on good authority that after the Neto debacle, he rocked up to Hotspur way, rolled into Levy's office, said marone a few times to show his disgust at the transfer committee, told Ange not to worry, then got to work.

Do they already have a player in their squad they prefer to this dude? If so, then links could be plausible. Though I’d imagine it would signal one of Skipp, Benta or Biss out the door.

Mayhaps they’re interested in Lo Celso and Reggie? (One can dream!!)

Looking at a Juve forum, a lot of their fans don't seem to rate him and want the club to get rid. Not really followed him so not sure what he has been like since he has gone there.

Saying that, seem to remember a sizeable number of their fans were quite happy to see the back of Deki and Bentancur so who knows.

i think it was like maybe 3 years ago Arsenal were looking at him and he was one of the main players Juve in that 6 role. I have no idea how well he's been playing for em since but he was a pretty hot commodity then

Baffling move this if it goes through. He was shit last year and was left out of the Euros as a result

Yeah, getting pelters from the Juve fans. Some seem to think he'd do a job in a 3 alongside 2 good ball playing midfielders but general consensus seems to be he isn't great. Getting Hojbjerg vibes from some of their comments tbh.

I think passing your way out of the press is more about the players you are passing to than yourself as a passer...

Seriously, why are we STILL looking to spend 30 odd million on a midfielder, when arguably it is our most stacked position, especially with the talent coming through? Save the damn money and spend it on a right winger and a left CB or LB. Those are the only two major upgrades we need atm and should be prioritised.

Much better passer than PEH and capable of playing 1/2 touch football. Was fantastic 2 years ago but needs a move.

Could be a shrewd purchase if he gets back to his best but would obviously need to replace one of our non HG centre mids.

Why are people saying if we got him we'd have to get rid of Bissouma or Bentancur?

Look at how many games last season we had to resort to Skipp or PEH.

We need more top quality options in the middle.

Is he really a DM though?

I seem to remember he was a box-to-box midfielder when he burst through at Sassuolo. A good ball-winner, but not the DM I believe this forum expects him to be.

I rate him a lot as a player in general though, despite being pretty awful last season.

I worry about the path for some of the best kids we've had in ages - Gray (in particular) and Devine need to get time, and competing for the same spots (in some senses) as Bissouma, Locatelli, Sarr and Bergvall wouldn't be great.

I haven't even included Skipp, nor mentioned HG quotas
