I would agree, if I didn't see it every single game from someone "world class" - I hate it, you hate it, we all hate it, but how well you can perform that "flop" is part of your CV now. It equally annoys me that refs are too afraid to react if a player doesn't fall over, which also happens a fair bit, so yes it stinks but also yes it's part of the game now.

I preferred the old offside rules too, we'd never have had a Gary Linekar if goal hanging had been outlawed back then, but game's changing all the time now.

Martial lashed out at the face, regardless if it's strong or hard it's aggressive play. You can't hit another player in the face in retaliation. If Lamela doesn't go down it doesn't get spotted. Yes his reaction was way OTT but that is the game. I just watched the Lazio v Inter game and both teams had a player sent off exactly the same way. Unfortunately players are told to react in such a way to highlight any such incident. I have seen every one of our players react to similar manner so calling out Lamela for it is just silly. If you have an issue blame the rules.

The red card may hide how good we were in the first half 11v11. We keep the ball very well. Harry is genius, passing like KDB. I’ve been very very impressed with Hojbjerg, great recovering of the ball and his passing has been intelligent and showing surprising (to me, at least) vision. Son clinical but could have had at least another. Having Reguilon down the left bombing forward adds another dimension and creates so much space. His delivery has been poor at times, but that’s okay, he’s learning - and his presence and style adds more to the collective performance than takes away.

We look absolutely excellent. Let’s get another and rest Kane and Sonny.
