IMHO, we were never going to sell both in the same window, no way. Will be disappointed if we sell both Aurier and Tripp’s for around 40 combined and didn’t get in the running for this.

I don't disagree but I also don't understand why that seems like an impossibility.IMHO, we were never going to sell both in the same window, no way.
I think it’s very rare for a team to start the season where the only options at a position are players new to the system, to the squad, to the manager, and for good reason. Most of our acquisitions under Pochettino have taken five or six months to really start hitting a stride, and some significantly longer than that.I don't disagree but I also don't understand why that seems like an impossibility.

And no, KWP does not count - I’ve written about this at length before, but if he was considered good enough to be clear second-choice and be the only backup to a new player (who, as above, may well struggle), then he would have been promoted above either Trippier or Aurier this season and we didn’t see that happen.
Which probably has more to do with it not being likely we will receive acceptable offers for both this window. Once an acceptable offer is made for either, I'm sure we'll accept it. Not because Poch wants to promote KWP, but because Tripps and Aurier can realistically be improved upon.IMHO, we were never going to sell both in the same window, no way.
Yes, I think we would sell either for a reasonable offer, but wouldn’t sell both without a very good offer (which isn’t likely based on form).Which probably has more to do with it not being likely we will receive acceptable offers for both this window. Palace weren’t taking any shit last summer with Zaha either. Pay very, very big or fuck the fuck off they seem to be saying. And fair play to themThe Guardian reporting that United and Palace are getting together to nut out a deal.
https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...ce-aaron-wan-bissaka-deal-improved-offer-zaha
"Two bids had already been rejected out of hand. The second is understood to have guaranteed only £35m for the 21-year-old right-back, with a further £15m dependent upon personal and collective honours. Palace considered those performance-related clauses – some are believed to relate to United, who finished sixth last term, winning the Champions League – to be wildly unrealistic."
Looks as if Levy isnt the only low baller out there. Yanited winning the Champs League. Snigger. Chortle.
Toooooo much money. They want nearer 70m for him. So ?? away
Haha- I have complete faith in Utd ballsacking that money over to them, then scratching their heads and arses when they can’t figure out why that hasn’t bought them successThey want nearer 70m for him. So ?? away

And weakens them further if as a consequence of that, their top 4 rivals are able to pick Zaha up at a more realistic priceI wonder if things will start getting nasty with Zaha, especially once AWB goes. Will he be happy to stay?
Thing is his position to ask for lower fee to facilitate a deal will be weakened if they get top whack for AWB. I think he's gonna have to stay.
Based on that article saying they want £50m guaranteed for AWB plus Utd to waive the Zaha sell on, there's the £70m right there!

Completely agree. It’s a horrible market.Goes to illustrate how money has changed the Prem that Utd now have to spend upwards of £60 mill to sign an uncapped full back with one good season under his belt from Crystal Palace.
No wonder we don’t know how to sign players anymore.
