Today's peformance and result reminded me of a match against stoke in Poch's 2nd season when we played them off the pitch, yet Alderwiereld gave up a soft late penalty that spoiled the result. But the squad really looked like they had fully bought into the manager's vision and went on a wonderful run. I got the same vibes after this game, and I feel this team is now a Mourinho team and is gonna do great things.

Ha Ha

We literally posted the same sentiments at the same time.

I like the way the squad’s coming together. I’m just not sure we we have a high chance of seeing Kane, Bale, Son, GLC, N’Dombele and Hojbjerg all in the side at the same time due to their chances of being injured. It’ll be fantastic if we do, though. Just need to sort out the centre backs and another striker.

Little by little we’re getting there.

Oh I wasn’t trying to goad you so please don’t take out as such, I was under the impression you were in the ‘don’t like his football’ camp is all.
There’s no doubt he can kill a game from the start which is sometimes required. I don’t like when it’s not required and we show no ambition or shots against teams like Bournemouth. Possibly it was a practice exercise. That’s being generous.

Maybe overly generously, but given our overall form in lady seasons final run in, I’m cutting him a lot of slack for where it wasn’t so good. This season so far I think I’m seeing promising signs of a manager and side going out to try to win and win well. Today based on play should’ve been a similar score line to last week.

I’m hoping Bale in the team forces his hand to be more positive. Not particularly convinced so far this season. Apart from Son/Kane combos against Southampton has there really been enough play to be positive about?

I’d say in two of our three league games we’ve played penetrative, passing football on the ground in the main, against two very differently structured sides, and even in a poor performance v Everton had very good chances to be ahead long before we conceded.

I think it’s on the verge of properly clicking and us actually enjoying the football and results.

Think we need a few more games to call it. Another month.

The first half was amazing. It could be more to do with Newcastle's tactics but that's Mourinho first 5 games there. Then second half Son goes off at half time and we come out with less intensity.

Penalty was a joke and I genuinely hope Mourinho gets them practising kicking the ball against hands and other teams do the same to force this stupid rule to change.

We was robbed. Maybe Jose will realise that with this set of players we need to kill teams off before they get that kind of luck.
I agree. No complaints with Jose or the team today. However, whilst this crazy handball rules is in place we need the second goal. We can’t settle for 1:0 even if we are in total control like today. Opposing teams will fling it into the box and play for the handball. Just writing this makes my blood boil but that’s where we are until the rule changes.

The rule is bad...but I feel positive about Jose and the team this evening.

For me, Jose Mourinho today became a Spurs manager.

Not only did the players work their asses off and show character, especially those who’ve been heavily criticised recently, but I think his comments after the game showed that he ‘gets it’ now too. Knowing the task ahead will hopefully help him and the team.

I just hope he can keep building the mentality of this team and put the likes of United and Liverpool on their Sky Sports supported asses along the way.

Was never in the Jose camp, but thought let's see how it goes, and it's going to be a work in progress. I thought it was a great team performance today. Saw real signs of a cohesive unit with a plan and team/game understanding. I was much more encouraged by this performance going forward, despite the draw, than last week's against Southampton.

We looked like a team today, solid all round as a unit. We look like we're doing the right things. Just very, very unlucky today.

All it would take is us scoring from a couple handball calls against Manu on Sunday and the FA will be on the phone with IFAB to discuss making "revisions" for the sake of the game.

Find the criticism from some quarters, such as Windy and Nathan Clark, as well as a terrible F365 piece, criticising Jose for sitting on a 1-0 lead to be utterly bizarre. We hit the frame of the goal 3 times FFS while Karl Darlow had a game for the ages. And this after we scored 5 last week.

Some people are obsessed with equating possession with performance to the exclusion of all else. It makes for a terrible analysis imo.

It's just a chink in the armour, a great opportunity for those Jose haters to put the boot in.

Anybody who thinks we sat on our lead yesterday and were just trying to message home a 1-0 either didn’t watch the match or is a wanker. No other options provided ?
