Wasn't Dybala 70m plus wages around the same as Jose's? Either way, I think there's some money in the kitty.

Not sure think we've spent around £50m all round on both contracts either way I wouldn't get my hopes up.

We have close to 100k people on the season ticket waiting list and play in the best stadium in the world, selling out every week with excess demand. We don't need transfer rumours to sell tickets

They are on the Waiting List because they are OneHotspur+ members not because they actually want a season ticket.
There are loads, like me, who would not even consider one if offered

One thing that’s been underrated is how much of a tune Jose is getting out of Eriksen.

Let’s not forget, eriksen was absolutely fucking terrible for the last year of Poch’s reign. He’d completely checked out and was a shadow of his former self. Clearly one of the players Poch had lost in the dressing room. Since Jose has come in Eriksen is actually looking close to back to his best, he’s creating chances and actually scored a free kick!
More importantly he's looking for the ball and trying to take the game by the neck.
Whereas under Poch he didn't seem to have that same desire.

Of course there are loads, but we have 42k STH currently. We've just offered more season tickets out with the minor capacity increase and they've all been snapped up immediately. Even if only half of the current waiting list actually wanted a ST, we'd probably be able to replace the entire current lot with some missing out

We do when we are playing Europa league with on average the dearest ST prices in world football (maybe even sport)
At WHL pre-Poch we had 50k+ on the waiting list and barely anyone was giving up their ST. They all aren't just gonna jump ship after one year out of the CL

I cannot believe Mourinho joined Spurs just to do the best he can with the current squad and the youngsters. He will have discussed with Levy what backing in the Transfer Market he will have and it will have been significant or he wouldn’t have joined. I assume he and Levy are playing down transfer deals to keep everyone’s expectations in check particularly selling clubs and Spurs supporters.
He won't have joined to be the only spurs manager Levy doesn't back. The only issue would be that we spent heavily in the summer but I doubt a new manager needing some money brought forward from next summer's budget will be too flexible for the club to countenance.

Apologies for the longish post in advance.

When you make a list of what we need it does seem a long shot to expect Levy to address it all at once.

However I said at the time, Levy does not appoint Jose and at least try to back him. I think we will back Jose but not in the way he was backed at previous clubs. I dont think we will be signing players 27/28 years of age for large fees. I do however see Levy being willing to sign younger players for large fees as the players are assets and can be sold in future if it goes wrong.

I think the following all needs to be addressed.

1. We need a DM this is the most important issue in the team for me.
2. We need another option at RB, Serge has improved however we cannot rely on him as the only option as teams will target him.
3. GK I would be happy for Hugo to stay as I think us playing out from the back less will help him. However he has been out a long time and has previously said he is tied to Poch.
4. CB we need another CB, Foyth needs a loan to iron out his errors.
5. LB happy to develop Sess there this season and use Jan and Davies as cover for the rest of the season.
6. We need another striker, if Sess plays LB that means our forward options are depleted. Heavily linked to Eze who can play in the 3 behind Kane but we need another striker to rotate with Kane.
7. We need to trim the deadwood, KWP, Rose, Wanyama.
8. We need our younger talents to get regular football. Skipp, Parrott, Clarke, Foyth, Tanagana (if he signs) they are stagnating and need regular football.

We have to address some of that now, for me bring in a DM (Luis would be the dream) the rest we can address this summer as they are all linked but January will tell us a lot of whether Levy wants to back Jose or just wants Jose at the club to say he tried.

He’s playing better, but still nowhere near his best imo.

City has nothing to do with it mate as a club we generate a decent turnover but levy doesn't like to push the boat out a bit so we are always struggling when it counts.

Stadium costs were increased with billions because of brexit. It's not sure there is so much more to spend.

So far we've tried:
1. Winks and Sissoko
2. Sissoko and Dier
3. Ndombele and Eriksen

How many combinations do we still have to keep trying until we realise we need a better CDM to pair with Ndombele ?

But there are always excuses when it comes to us and spending such as civil war in Syria, White rhino nearly extinct it never ends, between levy and poch the refusal to recruit over those two windows has proven to be an absurd decision.
The rebuilding now will take a while and no guarantees of us getting back amongst it again this has set us back and was a decision that was bordering on criminal.

I know that he gifted them a goal but I’m saying he’s got huge potential and he needs to play consistently to get these mistakes of his game what cant you understand

You lot are already writing of a 21 year old player
I think the point is that we can’t afford another 4 years of this before he becomes a competent defender. I like him, but he needs to learn quicker, or go on loan to a team that can afford to have defenders that regularly give goals/pens/red cards away.

Coz there’s loads of them around...

Would love a loan to a good footballing side in the championship. Tough league for him to cut his teeth.

If "pushing the boat out a bit" constitutes ENIC putting their hands in their own pockets to fund transfers a la early Abramovich or Mansour then people need to change their expectations. If using the club's increased income to spend more on the squad like FSG, the Glazers and Kroenke is what people want to see then that's reasonable and is exactly what has happened now the opportunity has arisen.

I certainly don't mean the former I was suggesting the latter but I'm not convinced it will happen Levy's comments of nothing will change do not fill me with confidence.

I think it was a smart move playing Ndombele as the positional midfielder (as he calls it). He kills two birds with one stone by limiting the running Ndombele does and by getting him on the pitch to showcase his ability.

If Ndombele plays there again we may just have found a short term solution to the DM problem.

Alternating him and a runner (like Sissoko) and Dier(with a more creative player beside him) could work.

For me currently we need to have 3 in midfield to not get outplayed. A more defensive minded player (Skipp) alongside Ndombele and Lo Celso would be fine. I really hope they address the dm role in the transfer window. For me that is the main issue at the moment.

Depends how that's interpreted I suppose. Prior to the NDP getting seriously underway we broke even (+/- a few million) from year to year. Large profits over the last 2-3 years have been sunk straight into the stadium (minimising the long term impact of the cost). A subsequent return to the break even model means much more money to spend on the squad (hence the recent contract renewals and c.£100m net spend last summer). I'm a natural optimist and just can't currently see any basis for cynicism on this particular front as it's clear that ENIC have always spent everything that's available. Some people (not you) seem to object to them being unwilling to run the club at a loss and make up the shortfall themselves.
