Saw this earlier and was fuming. In some ways you have to respect Sissoko for coming out and saying this, but why are the players already ignoring the manager after 4 games?

Because they’re a bunch of scared little boys. Mentality so weak

Regarding the lack of funds : I know there might be mind games involved, but if we really have no money then again it makes the Dybala “transfer” a load of bullshit. Cynical attempt at a high profile signing which we knew was never going to be completed? :cautious:

Foyth 'don't cut the mustard' but he doesn't do bad for the Argies. How about playing him as a defensive RB and Sess as an attacking LB. Or could Foyth be our answer to a dm?

Weak mentality and humongous egos. Im so sick of some of these players. I wish we could drop alot of them. They havent wanted it for a long time. I dont think they were tired of Poch. I think they are tired of the club.

Yes, by playing him practically as a forward. Which compromises the midfield. We're effectively playing a 424. So to get the best out of Dele, and keep the midfield secure, put him in a front 3. Its what Poch was doing back in 2015/16 and we nearly won a title.
I do like the 433 but we need better defensive fullbacks to be most effective in that formation. I think we only look like a 424 with Moura and Son as the wide attackers. We really need the right sided player to tuck in with the right back overlapping. It then becomes more like a central 3 in midfield and allows Alli and Son the freedom to play closer to Kane. I think Lo Celso is made for that inside right role but Sissoko gives a defensive option as well.

He talks about defensive process as opposed to putting blame on individuals and he's exactly right, we are not defending as a team properly yet so whilst you all put the blame on the likes of Sanchez, Winks, Aurier, Sissoko for isolated incidents and moments we need to look at how we defend as a collective for 90 mins, that's our biggest issue.
This is a nice signal that he has learnt from some of the comments made about individuals whilst at United. He seems incredibly motivated and I am confident that this motivation combined with his experience and intrinsic footballing intelligence should be enough to fix (in part) our shortcomings; however, he will need time - with what seems like a quiet winter window ahead, this summer is going to be his first proper opportunity to mould our his squad in his image - he deserves nothing less than an opportunity to do so.

I actually think the drop in form of Eriksen has had a big impact on our defence too. We simply haven't kept hold of the ball well enough in the opposition half to take pressure off the defence. The sooner Ndombele and Lo Celso get their fitness levels up the better.

January is for players out of contract, transfer listed players or youngsters in Championship and League One. That's how we got Holtby, Alli, Moura and almost Barkley. Looks like Levy won't change his modus operandi even with Mourinho in charge. Last two hours of summer is when we do most of our business and probably fail to fill all holes and sell everyone. Maybe Campos or some other DoF can change that, we'll see.

For fans the answer is always that whoever isn't playing should play. The line up most fans now think will solve our problems is some version of this:

Lo Celso
non-existent RB, Foyth, LoCelso, Sessegnon
Lo Celso Ndombele Lo Celso
Lo Celso, Kane, Son

Even if Lo Celso, Foyth and Sessegnon have a total of 180 minutes of PL fottie between them, so none of us really know what they are capable of in PL the season, but none the less they are your answer.
Why should this season be the important factor? Foyth and Sessegnon have played a lot more than 180mins each in the PL let alone between them.

LoCelso is a very good player. You’re trying too hard to be surprised that people think he might improve us.

Nice to see him identifying a lot of the things that are wrong at the moment. Unfortunately he has little to no time in between games to properly work on any of them.

Almost half a season is played and those two have completed a bewildering 21 minutes total this season. I think others are trying too hard to come up with line ups that simply are not rooted in even a farfetched version of reality.

Genuinely sick of a lot of the squad now. It’s easier to say I’m not sick of Kane, Son and the new boys pretty much! So many majorly flawed and uninterested/mentally weak players at the club. It needs a complete mentality change which can only be brought about by players who want to win or possibly have won and knows what it takes.

Seeing as the pundit thread is closed I'll stick this in here, very interesting podcast.

I'm only 10 mins is but Jack Broke-Pitt who I'm pretty sure eats plants for dinner said that Danny Rose was close to joining Chelsea for £55m in Summer 2017 and we have tried to sell him every summer since, that's probably why he's sitting on his contract now.

Interesting, was that the summer we sold Walker? and around the time that his now infamous Sun story came out?
Wonder who pulled the plug on that one.
