Anyone else notice how cautious we were in the couple of minutes leading up to half-time? I think Jose's told the team that conceding goals before half-time has to stop.

Some of our fans were groaning, but I completely agree with the tactics.

Great from Jose today, game by game he is trying to make things a little more solid.

Son tracking back more moussa covering the right.

Even against Olympiacos he was making dier close down higher up the pitch (not successfully)

Next is the middle of the park. Dier is not match fit, Jose will give him time but we have to start thinking of other options.

If by January if dier is still putting it in these performances we have 4 options, one is wanyama (I'd be surprised), next is Skipp (maybe), then eriksen/lo celso (more control and possession, my personal choice) then 4 we invest big on a DM (Jose's choice I imagine)

Ideal scenario dier gets his fitness and form back. I don't think the defence is a big issue.

But far better with a pro active manager. I'm enjoying Jose and his pressers.

Think this is a club tailor made for Jose tbh. We are on the cusp and he seems to be genuinely be revelling in it. Hopefully he can sort out our defence and integrate Lo Celso, Sessgnon, KWP and Parrott.

Jose really made a different hasn’t he. Our defence is still poor, but for me that gives Jose the tools to work on and possibly go out and strengthen in Jan. Us leaking in goals could be a good thing, as it means Mourinho will no doubt get Levy to open up his cheque book in the transfer window. The main difference now is we are winning games and Dele Ali is playing like a man possessed. I’m enjoying watching Spurs again.

I think privately Jose will be telling Daniel that we really need to spend in January if we want to finish top 4 this year. A DCM being the priority. And I hope it’s not Matic.

Let's see what he's like in a couple of years.

People need to remember that Pool had the same problems under Klopp before these last two seasons where they were a scoring machine but conceded a lot of soft goals, especially on set pieces. Now that they've ironed those problems out they've turned into an incredible side.

It's early days but we have good players and Mou has gotten us scoring again and for the first time in over a year I'm genuinely enjoying our football. With a bit of patience and letting Mou work his magic, I think we can potentially turn into the best tottenham side we've ever seen.

The main difference is that we are getting the ball forward into final third much quicker than under Poch. We are playing a kind of counter attacking game relying mainly on Son's pace and ability.

If we continue this setup of going with one narrow LB becoming a back 3, then that’s tailor made for Davies but not for Rose. If it becomes fluid, being able to utilise a narrow RB with a LB higher up the pitch, the I can see how that would suit Foyth and maybe Sessegnon in tandem. As said, Mourinho is making the tactics fit the players at his disposal, not trying trying to force square pegs into round holes.
I think 2-3 additions in January will be on the cards, as Jose tweaks the squad to come closer to what system he actually wants to play, assuming currently this is just making the best fit.
DM is the next key item, that adds to the defensive stability we want to add. I saw somewhere Dier covered more ground than anyone else yesterday, but he perhaps lacks the mobility in terms of speed rather than miles covered. That will free up the likes of Ndombele or Winks alongside the DM to actually start to play football on the front foot, get us ticking, zipping balls to the front 5 (Kane, Alli, two wider players plus the advanced full back).
