Hope you're right.. he's never played decent football before it's always cheating & thuggery & it's easy to talk in press conference about having changed.. he's good at sweet talking people but his actions everywhere tells a different story

What's your definition of decent football?

Let's see. What frustrates me most is that there's large quantities of Spurs fans writing him off (a proven winner wherever he has gone), because he's not one to play the 'Spurs' way. What has the 'Spurs' way counted for the last 10-15 years? 1 League Cup. Yes we have progressed immensely as a club, BUT, trophies are always the measure of success, not getting to the final of a CL final and losing and certainly not coming 3rd in a 2 horse race.

Makes you realise how stacked our squad is and the possibilities of what he can get out of them is very exciting.

Good grief the squad we have... A bit unbalanced and we need to sort out the wantaways and holdouts over the next two windows but we've got such a good base with both quality and depth to build from and go forwards with.

I don't like him and I didn't want him as manager, but he's here now. Nothing would make me happier than Jose proving me wrong. I hope he turns out to be the best manager we've ever had, who plays the sexiest football and wins us the League and the CL (sod the League Cup, I wouldn't drink my tea out of that). He can start by giving that mob a good spanking tomorrow. COYS!

I think he can have a lot more fun with us because the huge pressure is off. He doesn’t have the Utd pressure to succeed Alex Ferguson and also doesn’t have the pressure of delivering the title again like he felt when he was at Chelsea. We have absolutely nothing so a top 4 finish and league cup would be a great achievement for us. the fact the pressure is off and he already has such a strong team at his disposal he can just get on with the job and do what he does best and that’s winning. I’m pumped!

Sorry but this is nonsense. Jose’s Chelsea team (first time round) played amazing attacking football. Jose’s Real Madrid team were insanely attacking, scoring more in that season than any other team ever has, including the Barcelona sides that everyone says are the best ever.

What José does is set the teams up to win. Sometimes that will mean being a bit dirty and playing games, and I personally am happy with that as being naive and too nice got us spanked 7-2 by Bayern Munich. I know which one I would prefer.

I get that you don’t like mourinho and that’s fair enough to me but you can’t ignore what the man has done and just make blanket statements that clearly aren’t true.

What's not true ? The absolute ****ology that Chelsea team got up to.. it's not that I don't like Mourinho as a person & is quite different than what he shows on camera I've heard.. I hate his style of football not that he isn't a great coach, nobody can spot a teams weakness as quick as him & he has a great eye for talent but how he & Levy can work together I can't see it working.. now obviously I hope I'm wrong

Mourinho certainly does speak very well - he's full of self-confidence and that arrogant swagger seen in all of the best managers (Ferguson, Clough etc). I'll be honest, I'm absolutely fascinated to see how this plays out as I've never experienced a manager like Mourinho who will actively talk us up and be so manifestly determined to WIN.

It's so refreshing to see some of the comments he's made on Kane and Alli - stroking their egos and almost daring them to break the mould and reach that next level. Exciting times.

Never really liked Jose but was always envious of his successes with other clubs. Its going to be a struggle with emotions on Saturday. I hope he excels here and its a new chapter for him and Spurs. The club is bigger than anyone and he is our manager. Starting to get goosebumps again in anticipation. I haven't had that for the last 12 months of Poch's reign. That was mostly goosebumps of trepidation. COYS!

Galaxy brain: Bezos is paying Mourinho's wages so we can sign Fernandes and Dias and win Champions League for the All or Nothing series.

I know you often talk shit mate, and I’ve just been woken up at 6.30 by a 3 year old, but could you translate that to English in case I’ve missed something important?

this could be a once in a lifetime event where yankspurs has an insightful input and I don’t want to miss it ;)

Another positive article in The Guardian. This one references that Mourinho tried to sign Moura before he went to PSG. If Mourinho gets this promising squad humming again, beyond RB and CDM, we have a very good side that he’s clearly already happy with
