There’s no shortage of quality players with one eye on the exit door at Spurs but Mourinho is hoping to keep the best the squad has to offer in order to take the club forward.
“To try to keep all the best players, to refuse to let the best players go away is part of the vision.”

Mourinho on how Tottenham will play under their new manager: "Very similar to [Pochettino]. Of course I will try to add details, and sometimes details can make the difference. Progressively we can arrive at a fingerprint. The style of play must be adapted to the club culture and also the players here."

These words are a calming salve to those of us who fear a park the bus mentality as our predominant style. Indeed, they are words and words alone, but they do hint that he understands and accepts our culture.

And that there's no point tearing up the existing structure just because you can.

Coys!

Premier League title aspirations

This quote is the difference between Mourinho and Poch. Amount of times we got into a challenging positions and when asked Poch completely played our aspirations down. Mourinho first press conference we can win it

Just a thought.

Regarding Poch saying we need a rebuild, these players will be desperate to prove him wrong now.

Guardian: Let’s do a little recap of what Mourinho said:
1. Pochettino is welcome back anytime
2. Mourinho has been smiling for two days
3. He has no current plans to sign new players in January
4. He is humble
5. He needed the time away from the game
6. Spurs can win the league next season
7. He now owns Spurs pyjamas

To be fair, that ain’t bad for just over 24 hours work!

After watching a few vids on youtube, and especially the training video, I am quite excited now. Buzzing for Saturday, as I expect the players will be.

I'm just going to enjoy the ride, wherever it takes us.

EDIT: I loved the sky sports vid with Jamie O'Hara. "We". Good lad.

EDIT 2: And to be fair to him, he has always spoken pretty highly of us apart from the one "bus park" comment.

As it's clear I am no Mourinho fan, although I was when he first came into England but things have moved on since then.

This appointment though is not about football but finance. DL is a finance man who I expect was getting very worried about the messages coming out of the club about unrest. That is no way to help him clinch the big commercial deals the club needs or keep the major creditors happy. Appointing someone with a track record as a winner makes financial sense. He is, in my opinion, a short term fix as 'Arry was to get some stability back. DL is not stupid and knows Mourinho has a short shelf life wherever he goes.

Anyway as someone who thins football is supposed to be played with flair, who goes for entertainment rather than an opportunity to hurl abuse at opposition fans I wouldn't cross the street to see recent Mourinho teams and will take some convincing to do the five hour round trips to watch turgid displays win, lose or draw

Pochettino: Winning the league could take 5-10 years
Mourinho: We can win it next season

We've replaced a content loser with a driven winner.

‘Do you think losing the champions league final affected the spurs squad?’ .... ‘ I don’t know because I’ve never lost a champions league final’ ahaha
