I think because of how he left Man Utd, he will want to restore his reputation, which can only benefit us. A good appointment in my opinion.
Did his Porto team, did his first stint at Chelsea and did his Real Madrid team play shit football??A lovely catchy phrase that ultimately means nothing
- He's a largely prosaic manager, the football his teams play is pretty unexciting...let's be kind and call it sh*t
- His track record of success is usually based on buying expensive oven-ready players...and his recent record of buying players has been truly awful
- He doesn't have a good track record of developing young players...or players more generally. He turns flair players into work horses
- His recent record is terrible - Utd were awful
I don't like this personally. It's always impossible to say how it'll turn out but I think this is bad
You mean he’ll be replaced with @Archibald&CrooksIf he doesn’t win we’re left with an arrogant, cut throat, smug bastard. That’ll be fun.
A lot of this is revisionism. He worked miracles with Porto, Inter and Chelsea (first time). When he is the underdog he steps up and gets the most out of a team. He is incredibly tactically sound and he creates a defiant mentality around his players.
He struggles though when the pressure is on. Real, Utd and Chelsea 2nd time round were different prospects. Suddenly winning wasn't enough for these teams, they wanted to win a certain way, the fans were more demanding, the players more precocious. His ego sees him demanding respect that he was never going to get from the media or the fans and I don't think he could cope with it.
Let's face it, we are more of the first set of teams than the second! If he can bring our clearly talented group of players together, and instill a tougher mentality then maybe together we can see something "special".
so we go and on and on with a manager that I’m not sure wanted to be here and who was showing relegation form ?
so who should we have gone with then Einstein?
Shady tell me something, in the grand scheme of things do you value the occasional FA or League cup win versus continued champions League qualification? Just interested to know the thought process.Yeah I'm gonna harbour a guess that no one actually thinks that
I hope he's amazing, I hope the time off has got Jose his fire back, I hope he's had a personality transplant and is not going to throw spurs under the bus when it all goes wrong.
.... But I'm spurs and as we all know. It's the hope that kills you.
Feels like we have picked up someone else's dirty washing - non inspiring football - easy option from Levy - from his time at Man u it felt like he was living in the past as a manager - don't like the man or what he represents
Poch taught us to dare. Jose will teach us to do.
That would only be the next chapter of the tragic comedy known as Tottenham Hotspur that short stack built up here.If he doesn’t win we’re left with an arrogant, cut throat, smug bastard. That’ll be fun.
Don’t worry, he’s only nicked it from twitterThats nice I like that - I am nicking it
You cheesy bastard

He should of got the chance to turn it around, at least until the end of the season. It feels like we pulled the trigger because Levy had always wanted Jose and he was probably worried Arsenal would get there first. We need to do things differently to other top 6 if we wanted to continue to punch above our weight.so we go and on and on with a manager that I’m not sure wanted to be here and who was showing relegation form ?

gooner mate of mine was been screaming for them to appoint Mourinho for months. Had they sacked Emery and done so, most on these boards would have been pissed off.
I expect at some point it will end in acrimony, but until then lets hope we can have a few good times.
