Jose is probably exactly what the club needs. A winner who takes no prisoners. Put some players in their place while adapting his tactics to the opponents. Rather than the ideological fundamentalism of the last regime

Poch taught us to dare. Jose will teach us to do.

A lovely catchy phrase that ultimately means nothing

- He's a largely prosaic manager, the football his teams play is pretty unexciting...let's be kind and call it sh*t
- His track record of success is usually based on buying expensive oven-ready players...and his recent record of buying players has been truly awful
- He doesn't have a good track record of developing young players...or players more generally. He turns flair players into work horses
- His recent record is terrible - Utd were awful

I don't like this personally. It's always impossible to say how it'll turn out but I think this is bad

If you're not yet at the very least intrigued to see what is gonna happen with Jose in charge then I hope you will come around soon.

This is part of our journey to what is hopefully the top table of football and it's gonna be amazing to watch it unfold.

This Amazon doc is gonna have more drama than GOT.

Is he going to take charge for West Ham? Just trying to work out when #JoseOut is going to start trending.

If you thought fans were fickle over Poch, this is going to be another level. This guy puts one foot wrong and there's a large proportion of angry fans ready to stick the boot in immediately. This will be repeated ad nauseam.

And if we get to summer 2021 without trophies, then fuck me. Been a complete waste of time hasn't it.

I said this in the Poch thread, the thing which Levy will never get is the mob mentality of match day going fans. Remember Stratford? Is this the first time Jose has turned up somewhere where a large section of the fans don't want him? And with Levy's transfer budget as well? Sounds like a complete car crash to me.

I guess the one good thing is spurs will probably be responsible for finally ending the legend of Joses ability to win trophies wherever he goes. Having said that, we'll be getting shit from Chelsea fans for years to come about "secret agent Jose".

Yeah, sounds wonderful, can't wait.

You're not taking this very well...don't worry mate best West Ham on Saturday and I expect you to change your avatar to Jose.

Mate, why wish negativity to happen.

Just let the cards fall where they may.

There will be plenty of time to be pissed off when it all goes to shit.

genuinely gutted that weve appointed mourinho. he a classless self promoting bastard who leaves every team devasted in season 3.

A lot of this is revisionism. He worked miracles with Porto, Inter and Chelsea (first time). When he is the underdog he steps up and gets the most out of a team. He is incredibly tactically sound and he creates a defiant mentality around his players.

He struggles though when the pressure is on. Real, Utd and Chelsea 2nd time round were different prospects. Suddenly winning wasn't enough for these teams, they wanted to win a certain way, the fans were more demanding, the players more precocious. His ego sees him demanding respect that he was never going to get from the media or the fans and I don't think he could cope with it.

Let's face it, we are more of the first set of teams than the second! If he can bring our clearly talented group of players together, and instill a tougher mentality then maybe together we can see something "special".

I dont particularly see Spurs and Mourinho as a great fit myself, but its done now, at worst I see us getting a short term shot of adrenaline to turn around this season. Long term our ways of working dont seem particularly compatible.

Lets be honest it cant be any worse than what we've been watching so far in 2019 regarding playing style, the big CL matches aside. Ive been paying increasingly apathetic notice of our endeavours lately, at least now it is going to be interesting one way or another.

The Amazon TV series will be bigger than Game Of Thrones.

I think most people, on the face of it, would view it that way.

But anyone thinking Levy hasn't covered every angle with Mourinho before appointing him is underestimating the meticulous nature of the man.

The parameters will have been set.

You may as well be describing Pochettino here

You are forgetting that Poch leaves us in 14th, with relegation battling form going back 12 months, key players winding down contracts/refusing to leave, squad disharmony and the need to find a new backline next season. Thats the brutal reality here, as much as I love the guy.

Im not saying grass is greener or that I partcularly want Jose, but the state of devastation you describe has been pretty much our default position for decades apart from the first 3-4 years under Poch.

Long term I would like to see us get Rodgers, in the meantime I am down for some nasty win at all costs Jose mayhem.

“Club statement.” “Club statement.” And thats it. Jesus christ. Hey Donna, you really fucking suck at your job. Im adding this to the list of many debacles from you recently and the Jan/Eriksen cluster fuck that is ongoing. Clean it the fuck up already.

I’m still devastated about Potch going, pathetic really for a grown man but barely slept last night cause of this And ended up going to gym in middle of night lol!

Anyway I am happy with the jose appointment, ive Always had a soft spot even a (Chelsea manager) and despite singing all the songs we had for him!

There is no doubt he is one of the greatest managers of all time And I generally didn’t believe we would appoint him so fair play to Daniel Levy... However make no mistake despite all talk about working with he Academy Daniel Levy is going have to back Jose in the transfer market.. if he doesnt then this could turn sour very quickly..

I hope he's amazing, I hope the time off has got Jose his fire back, I hope he's had a personality transplant and is not going to throw spurs under the bus when it all goes wrong.

.... But I'm spurs and as we all know. It's the hope that kills you.
