I don’t think we will - it might not be city but if we win something, I wont care.

We need to win stuff.

look at a nice clip in the Jose thread - he has refreshed his backroom staff
As a season ticket holder, its going to be hard spending £1000+ a year to watch shit every other week whilst hoping for the odd league or FA Cup.

I'm in the minority but I'd rather be entertained than win.

gooner mate of mine was been screaming for them to appoint Mourinho for months. Had they sacked Emery and done so, most on these boards would have been pissed off.

I expect at some point it will end in acrimony, but until then lets hope we can have a few good times.

Feels like this has been a couple of weeks in the making, nothing moves this fast unless ground work has been put in place.

Some ground work has probably been set, but it feels like something happened in the last couple of days. Suddenly it all happened at once, at the end of a international break.

Pretty pleased now and intrigued to see how it pans out. Appreciate people not liking him but we’ve been on a downward spiral domestically for a year and the squad has become stale. He’s going to be a tinder box going in there. It will inevitably lead to conflict, but who is to say that’s a bad thing.

He’s covered a few of our games on Sky recently. Anyone remember if he singled out any players?

What a hellish 12hrs.
This is a wound that will take a long time to heal from.

What a hellish 10 months under Pochettino, not just for us, but for the players too.

We still have one of the best squads in the league, and yet shoddy management from Poch has left them tired, dejected, unmotivated and incoherent.

He was never, ever, ever, going to turn it around. Why anyone would want another week with him in charge is beyond me at this point.

Levy can't do a deal in regards to a player but knows how to pitch a new manager over the line this quickly? Nah, it's still business and Mourinho and his reps know his worth. The truth like most things on the internet with uninformed opinions probably lay in between our views haha.

I think it's silly that people are assuming that Levy doesn't know about Mourinho's 'reputation'.

If he really has had discussions with Mourinho to be our next manager, then i'm sure that they have BOTH agreed on what direction to take the club in.

That won't stop Mourinho getting the massive hump when Levy gets up to his usual transfer shenanigans, whatever they have agreed the guy can't help himself

Can't stand the guy.

He's uniquely awful in the game -- eye-gouging a trainer, attacking a female member of his own staff for doing her job, demeaning his players, etc. In a way his after the fact reactions to those incidents were even worse, showing it wasn't just the heat of the moment.

Then there's the everyday whinging about everything and his constant sour-puss face.

His teams play awful, boring and cynical football even when he has vastly superior talent compared to the opposition.

Despite all the knocks at one point he was a genius, top of the game. But the special one crown slipped many years ago and his last two firings were embarrassing.

I loved how much I liked our team and manager. The unity (until recent times) made me feel so proud. Poch was such a respectful man, exactly who I would want to be the leader of our club.

Jose is the total opposite.

I will support the team as ever, and I will be delighted if Jose has changed his stripes and wins me over, but today is the most depressed I've been as a Spurs fan in a long long while.

Bit to be fair, you have been doing that for the last year, I’m no season ticket holder, but go regularly and it’s been more of a chore than a pleasure recently anyway.

I've suspected Mourinho has just been waiting for our call anyway. He's been declining offers and complimenting us openly. Don't think it was much work needed there really...

So what's the difference from before then really?

The thought of working with Levy was just too much for him to ignore :ROFLMAO:

With him not having the title of manager the dof seems to be in play not sure how much that'll keep Levy away from fucking shit up at that level, I guess we'll see. Hopefully Mourinho can get the squad playing again, too much talent to be outside the top six right now.

I dont particularly see Spurs and Mourinho as a great fit myself, but its done now, at worst I see us getting a short term shot of adrenaline to turn around this season. Long term our ways of working dont seem particularly compatible.

Lets be honest it cant be any worse than what we've been watching so far in 2019 regarding playing style, the big CL matches aside. Ive been paying increasingly apathetic notice of our endeavours lately, at least now it is going to be interesting one way or another.

The Amazon TV series will be bigger than Game Of Thrones.

Odious character. Hard to forget the eye gouging of another manager. Maybe we'll perk up a bit for a while, but I wouldn't bank on it. It's almost cute that he dropped the academy into his statement. I look forward to his eventual sacking.
