Spot on, their partnership was brilliant, world class. Some poster recently said that they are selfish with one another all,too often.Well not today. In drooling at the thought of Bale and fully fit Lo Celso and Ndombele
Keep drooling because with JM in charge hell will freeze over before we see that lot on the pitch together. Must have at least 7 defensive players on at any 1 time.

Central midfielder ie Winks and Sissoko are poor. One ,at least, would have to go obviously.

Agree. Mourinho says he wants to players for each position - a squad of 22 players. In a 4-3-3 in midfield he needs a destroyer (Højbjerg), an all rounder (Lo Celso), and a creator (Ndombele). Not sure where Dele, Winks, Sissoko, Gedson or Lamela fit into that at present.

If you took today's team and swapped in Bale for Moura, Reguilon for Davies, and Lo Celso for Winks, we'd have been devastatingly better.

Agree, I was just being pissy.
I posted elsewhere theres no doubt our squad and 1st 11 is way stronger than it has been for a while.

Sometimes i wonder what has it got to take to get all the supporters behind the manager and the team 100%?

He is here less than a year! A global pandemic interrupted year... we are still in the process of getting the players he want...yet week in week out..." Jose out..Sell Ndombele!"

Sometimes i wonder if we truly deserved to get Eddie Howe or Sam Allardyce instead.

The state from some of you.

Play poorly and badly - Mourinho's fault.
Just won a game 5-2 - no credit to Mourinho.

Always the gaffer fault when things went wrong and always the players awesomeness when things went right.

He's here for barely a year but just incoming players alone, we have upgraded 4 of the starting XI, and Hart, being a personnel of experience and mentality so much needed in the dressing room over Vorm.

Mid-game calls of sacking him will be so ridiculously prevalent this season unless we lead 2 goals in the first half.

But for better or worse, today's show this is a sport of two halves.

Bear in mind the current squad is the most balanced we have in a long long time. And we may still be adding a few more quality players in the coming weeks.

The prejudice against Mourinho is getting ridiculous ffs .

The thing is for me, weirdly, I'd forego the scoring of three of our goals if we could just look like the solid defensive units of Mourinho's past.

We were such a shambles in that first half it was quite shocking. If Mourinho can get a hold of that we'll be sweet,

Isn't this forum about being able to express opinions? My opinion of Mourinho is obviously different to yours, but I've not gone all personal and childish with suggesting that you're a right miserable and self righteous twat.
The problem is you've expressed your opinion..ad nauseam. But as soon as someone posts a dissenting opinion, you pop in to 'rebut' with a dismissive comment that doesn't contribute to the conversation in the slightest.

Finally, I never suggested you're a right miserable and self-righteous twat, but I'm glad you're at least self-aware. :)

For us mere mortals it's difficult to understand why Jose seems to rate Dier so highly as a central defender , second half at 63:10 there was a little through pass that caught Dier completely unawares it just seemed to go right through him , his reactions are so slow. Jose has managed many top players in his time so what does he see in Dier ? we all know if you question his judgement you get slapped down but what he sees in Dier is a complete mystery.

Nobody is questioning his ability. He’s a brilliant footballer. Does not do enough, does not offer enough

Our record signing needs to show more, do more, create more. Run more
Needs to do everything more in a pivotal role in the middle of the park...
He does need to do more, no one is questioning that. However, maybe what he needs is an extended run in the team, let his confidence, rhythm build up and we might see the best of him.

It is not easy to come straight in and perform to his best, even Harry takes a while to get going after a break and is a notoriously slow starter. It can also not be underestimated what it feels like to know you are one more bad performance from another extended spell on the sidelines, he needs the trust of the manager.

I for one would rather see what we get from Ndombele over next few months than persist with Winks or Sissoko when we know for surer that leads us to mid table at best.

It's not really odd at all, I doubt that Son gives a shit who the MOTM is and it should be left at that, it's just a bloody MOTM nomination it's really not that deep.

The problem I have is that people look into things too much, it was bad enough before the doc came out but now everyone wants to be a amatuer phycologist based on 5 seconds of footage and they are doing it purely to fuel their confirmation bias about our players and manager.

I'm not saying you are doing that but that's a constant theme on here, it's boring.
The real issue here is that Winks was MOM.

I’m a big Eric fan but he is testing my patience at the moment...I’m not sure at the moment if it’s him individually or just the way the team is playing as a whole. I still think that the reason Mourinho rates him highly is the that he is the biggest shithouse in the team....and we all need one...all be it he needs to show it more..

With Dier... until 2 of our CBs make a case they are better than him , Dier will keep getting games.

The state of some of the posts in here earlier are borderline embarrassing.

Give the guy some bloody time, and let him have some time to build the squad he wants. He inherited a squad which needed a massive overhaul after years of stagnating. It's clear he is and will be backed so let's see what the squad looks like at the end of the window and then give him some time to work out his best team from there.

I loved Poch but if you asked me who would I rather give the money to strengthen the squad, it would be Jose everytime.

My prediction is he will be given the backing to put together the squad he wants and that this season he will be expected to deliver something whether that be top 4 whilst the new squad gets used to each other and Jose and then he will be expected to deliver big things the following year.

Exactly . First half and second half we did the exact same things, it’s just that a moment of brilliant from Ndombele unlocked it and in the second half we suddenly had rhythm in what we did due to the new found confidence.

Saw just as much ball in the first half as the other two midfielder, did far more with it. 5 fewer touches than Lo Celso had second half.

Not a subjective point, but statistical.

Statistical bollox

We are rapidly approaching a year. He’s not any old coach. He’s Jose. He’s amazingly fortunate to have no fans in the ground, as some of the football has been dull as.

credit where credit is due tho. Today. He put a smile on our faces (well, the result did).

I don't think many people are viewing the starting line up and subs in the context of the fixture log jam we're currently in. We came out of this game with no damage to players and nobody completely gassed. People say stuff like 'Why did Moura start ahead of Bergwijn?', and maybe they'll get their answer with the next starting lineup. It's a squad game (as is continually pointed out to us) and we now have a bit of depth and choice and yet people still complain that their preferred starting XI doesn't start the game and favorite players are on the bench. I think Mourinho's done a very good job today and I probably dislike him more than most.

This is his first proper transfer window with us when he is being given the tools to improve us after years of the squad stagnating. January he was able to bring a couple of players in but it's always a difficult market. If Reguilon is a starter and with the addition of Bale, I imagine there will be a style change as both full backs can bomb forward.
