Love how we are now convinced that Mourinho is the man to rebuild. Never ever was he brought in on this basis and never has he been thought of as a long term appointment. Comparing to Klopp in any shape or form is truly laughable as the the style of football is moon and Mars. Its actually what I would actually expect from Liverpool fans.

The comparison to Klopp is not of style but of substance.

Klopp was hired in October and finished 8th that season then 4th twice before 2nd last year and a first trophy.

Mourinho was hired and still has even finished his first season.

In any case I don't think we can judge what style Mourinho is attempting to implement at this early stage. If it was more of the same a character like Mourinho wouldn't sit there and say it was going to be different for the sake of it, he'd have too much pride

This is Spam! You don’t know what Mourinho was bought in for unless you was a fly on the wall during those talks he had with Levy. We have no squad to compete, so just relax and let the man work once he has a full squad back!

Read an interesting article which draws similarities between Liverpool pre Klopp and Spurs pre Mourinho.

Liverpool had a title challenging team that fell short with Rogers, they brought in Klopp and it took 5 years before they won silverware.

Spurs had a title challenging team that fell short with Poch, we brought in Mourinho and it will take time to see a change.
Comparing Klopp to Mourinho is like comparing Obama to Trump.

read an article by Olaoluwa nwobodo saying that sports news reporters are influenced by what club they like or dislike for instance
Liverpool were at a great disadvantage with having Allison injured when all other players were available in their defeat to Athletico. and would have won if he was playing . But spurs just because Kane / Sissoko / Davies / Son / Bergwijn were injured they should not be making these injuries an excuse and should have done better , I am only paraphrasing what he said but you get the idea its just enforcing what we already know and that is that a large part of the media are down on Mourhino the rest are down on Tottenham .
I refuse to turn on Jose tho I did not want him in the first place and this agenda against him is a bandwagon I refuse to jump on .

Have you had that confirmed to you by Daniel? I could say 'I love how Spurs fans think that they know what the contract arrangement is between Mourinho and the club'.

It's difficult to know what Levy's reason for making that statement. Yes, he could be deflecting as you describe but I genuinely think he's more likely to actually hold that belief and say it straight laced as he has done.

Do you consider this season's signings a failure or do you consider the lack of more signings a failure? I don't think he has failed (this season at least) after signing Ndombele, LoCelso, Gedson, Sessegnon, Clarke and Bergwijn For a cumulative 170m approx. He's also managed to get rid of so much deadwood that we held on to under Poch (Wanyama, KWP, Rose, Eriksen). That makes me think that Poch was more influential in keeping those players than we're lead to believe. Yes we have some gaping holes in the squad but the information I'm starting to see now is that Poch was more concerned with getting his first choice or no one and that has lead to squad deficiencies because we know we're not going to get most of our first choice targets.

One swallow doth not a summer make.

I am concerned about the signing of Ndombele. Undoubtedly skilful but with a dreadful attitude and weight problem, which was known to clubs/coches in France. I question whether or not due diligence was carried out on him before spending a large transfer fee and making him the highest paid player at Spurs, on par with Kane. I realise we need home grown players. I am unsure about Sessegnon but he may come good as he matures. I know little about Clarke's abilities, but it is of concern that he played very few minutes whilst on loan at Leeds and only a few minutes more at QPR.

Day 6-

Comparisons to Klopp refuse to go away but have now morphed and twisted into an abstract form that has never been seen here before.

Mourinho is simultaneously both the moon and Donald Trump
Klopp is Obama and Klopp is Mars
We play in white, they play in red
Good morning, Dave.

I feel we are now at a crossroads and we may achieve true art if given the time. I still have plenty of loo roll.

But wasn’t there an issue at Leeds re the amount of loan players they could use when they brought in other more experienced loan players after Clarke?
