I might be mistaken but is the ban not also on training grounds usage as well?
If so he won't be doing much with them.
I guess so but he will be able to at least take a step back and assess what is not working, which players are not suited to his demands and he'll be able to watch countless videos to scout other players and evaluate our players. Him and his team will be able to discuss plans without the distraction of game preparation, etc.

Itll be like him having a taste of managing Tottenham before he gets a real start. Imagine if the season was nulled, every poor defeat consigned to the bin as if it never happened but we'd be able to learn from these experiences also. Like we've just had 6 months of preseason.

And that is the overriding point being made here by a few of us. Taking into account all of the mitigating factors, it's really not a surprise that we're currently in the situation we find ourselves in. We can express anger at dire Football, but you have temper that with the realisation that you're never going to get a craftsman to produce a quality product if most of his tools are broken or worn out. He can only be judged when he has the tools available and they're in good condition.

Damn fine analogy if I do say so myself ;)

A month break now is a stroke of good fortune really. It gives him time to work with them on the training ground, gives key players a better opportunity to be fit and available, and will help in some way to get their mindset reset. That's my hope anyway.
A good analogy indeed

I'd love it if that happened. All this season's terrible league performances rubbed out of history. Liverpool fans getting the right arsehole. What's not to like?

Just give the squad a good week off, do some analysis, build some courage, take a few fights with Levy, and prepare as if there will be a chance to break into top 4. Nobody knows, plan for all scenarios. One scenario out of thousand is that season goes ahead at some points and Spurs go flying. It ain't over 'til the bald guy count's his money.

Elite football in Britain has been suspended until at least 3 April as a result of the spread of coronavirus

that’s from the bbc. Sorry to disappoint you all. It says “elite football” our game must be going ahead ?

Mourinho wanted a few weeks on the training pitch with the team... Let's see what happens now that Covid-19 has given him that time

Has it though? Do you think training will continue as normal or will it be split in to small groups with the majority of fitness work be done at home.

It will be work as normal unless they have been exposed. So far I haven't heard of any

But will they wait till one is infected which is very likely to happen in the next few weeks?

my guess is they’ll be given fitness regime to keep to at home.

I think team training is banned. It's no football activity or something like that. It's 3 weeks at home not the training ground.

This is a lucky break for us. Even without much group training, it buys more time for injured players to recover. And it buys us some mental space to regroup after constant inferiority over several weeks, compounded by losses and cup exits.

A weird kind of lucky break, but one we hopefully take advantage of. I reckon the most likely scenario is the Euros get pushed to 2021, the world cup qualifiers continue as planned (with some scheduling issues), and the 2019/20 domestic season and euro comps play on into june and maybe early July.

If you cant be good, Mou, be lucky!

Late edit: voiding the season also possible. Also lucky for us.

I think the games were postponed to avoid crowds, if they agreed behind closed doors, crowds would still congregate outside the ground. I feel that training at Hotspur way would be OK, There is a chance of contacting the virus anywhere, going to the garage to fill you car up, going in the bank, touching the ATM.

Not really, no one's going to the ground if they cant watch the game.
They will pile into pubs to watch on TV however, which I imagine is worse for spreading the virus...this and the fact that players and managers are testing positive are why the games are called off.

You’ve not been watching the news then. Where they have shown 1,000s outside grounds with the fans singing to support their teams. Can’t remember the club, but one had a player (not in the match) join the crowds outside as well.

That was PSG, doubt that's going to keep occuring if this situation carried on.

Rumour has it that public gatherings might be banned anyway next week so fans wouldn't even be allowed to do that.
