He actually just said in post match interview “very difficult to do better than we did today” :wideyed:

What’s happened to make some fans accept this as our new style? I honestly have no idea how any Spurs fan can look at our last 10 games and say they’re happy with how we set ourselves up

It's the hope/assumption that next season we'll turn into Inter circa 2010

But that's a debate for another thread.....

If anyone thought that this is the end game in terms of our playing style and thought it was acceptable they would be mad. As it is, I think that whilst we won't play amazing football under Mourinho, most of us are expecting as the months go by for it to become effective with the end result being the end of a long trophy drought. The coaching team was hastily assembled, the current manager was brought in after the season had already started. If we are still like this after the summer window and a few months into next season then yes, unacceptable.

The most frustrating part is when we want to get into the game we can. We create chances when we start to play a bit more. Dreadful football to watch for the first 70 min

So we were in control
2 individual errors
We would of won if we scored first
Players are tored
No striker

Depressing how mourinho was happy with the tactics, he won't change

Mourinho: "Look at Chelsea they played a World Cup winning striker up front, England’s second striker on the bench, and Belgium’s second striker in the stands. We had no strikers on the pitch, no strikers on the bench and two in the hospital."

Couldn’t have said it any better (y)

Still don't see why Parrott not on the bench. Maybe he isn't ready to start but he is a striker with a strikers instinct and would be an unknown quantity for defenders who have had an easy time. What is there to lose in bringing him on when we are losing. If the ball falls to him in the area , he is more likely to score than most of those on the bench. It's now become about Jose 's pride and not wanting to be proved wrong. Poch was just the same- stubborn

I’m ashamed supporting this club too, it’s horrible being banded with the same group of people who are rejoicing in our poor displays as it means they can say ‘I told you so’.

I'm not rejoicing and I'm not saying I told you so.
I actually hoped he had changed, but I think it's evident he hasn't. And I'm not sure he will

And people believe he was fine without getting a striker in January...

Think people need to take a step back. It's easy to say we create chances after 60/70 mins so why dont we do it from the start.

Well simply put we have a threadbare squad needing a huge overhaul and not fit senior strikers. We have to try and absorb a bit and then try and take advantage later in the game. It is actually Jose trying to counter the results we were getting early in the season when we couldn't perform for the full 90 and dropped off in quality as the game went on.

I'll be the first to say that the football is not pretty, but it gives us a chance. Where as if we go to to toe with teams there is a good chance we get worse results. If this football continues next hear with a full squad, transfers and a pre season under our belts, by all means kick off and complain. But for now why dont we actually get behind the manager.

Genuinely get the impression that there are people here who want Jose and the club to fail. We are all disappointed to lose a game to our rivals, but go spend time with friends and family and enjoy the weekend. We have no game for 8 days and nobody wants to spend the next week arguing about whether Jose is the right man for the job when it 8s impossible to judge at the moment.

I think that's as much to do with the other team starting to sit deep as it is us suddenly figuring out how to pass a ball forward.

Probably true. I just look at those two lineups and don’t understand how we can’t look better than we are.

Hasn’t given Skipp one second of match time yet. Obviously does not think he’s ready

Has said he does not think Parrott is ready

Jose could not give a toss about pride/reputation or anything else. All he is interested in is points

But what does he know. Only one of the greatest managers in history

All the pundits and supporters know better though!!

Played too many defenders - Tanganga, Toby, Sanchez, Verts and Davies. That put too much pressure elsewhere.

The same pundits who either never had the guts to try doing his job (Manager) or who did try and were failures.

I went after your post mainly because of your choice of words in that sentence than anything else, I know you’re not an unreasonable type. I just take great pride in supporting my club, managers and players come and go but supporters don’t, so words like ‘ashamed’ touch a nerve. I do however feel there’s an overriding sentiment of ‘waiting for Jose to fail’ on this forum, a mindset I detest. I just don’t see how it’s rational or fair to judge him until next season at the earliest.

OK so if results continue to get worse and we're obviously going to finish mid-table, do you think Mourinho will try try diifferent things then; expansive football and give the like of Skipp, Parrottt etc. a chance? No, I doubt it.
