Huh? Are you suggesting it was a (common and ridiculous) trait of Pochettino NOT to play his signings early enough?

So... what exactly are you basing this on? Toby? Wanyama? NDombele who started and played 90 minutes in the first game this season?

Moura who got game time very soon after his January signing?

I guess what I'm asking is: what BIG money signing made under Pochettino didn't get the gametime that makes you say it was "a ridiculous thing" from his tenure?

Lo Celso got injured on International duty so that doesn't count. So who else? Rather baffled to be honest

I've only just seen this and can partly explain. Son only started 13 premier League games in his first season. He's since said that he wanted to leave at the end of that season.Moura played six premier League games in his first season (January signing). Poch seemed to trust players once they had a pre season with him, or if they were signed from premier League teams. He wasn't necessarily wrong in doing that, but it's where this perception of him not starting new signings comes from.

son started his first game and scored didn’t he? (Maybe as a sub) Then he couldn’t get a sniff and adjust to the pace at a time the team were doing well so got dropped. When he had the tank to go he became the star he is.

It’s a perception that is both wildly overblown and completely understandable from the team pov

It's great hearing him talking about the importance of the FA Cup. If we could win that under him it would be the best thing to happen to Spurs since I've been watching us (1995/96), including appearing in the CL final. Love the fact that Jose leans towards the idea that winning trophies should be the single most important priority for a football club.
We have a manager that is not interested in just competing he wants to win things we probably haven't had someone that single minded since Bill nick.

The win against Southampton and now Villa for the shithousery, it can’t keep ending this well. I will say I don’t like it, and don’t like how we play.

This was not a shithouse win. We deserved it based in the number of good chances we missed.

Why can’t anyone see the blatantly obvious? Injuries, no real striker to hold up the bull since H. We have to adapt our game plan. JM is certainly proving his credentials. Nobody cannot see that is beyond me. Style of play? Judge him next season.

Mourinho is teaching us how to win regardless of the team we put out. We can only improve with the confidence these wins will give us.

I don't see how this was in anyway a shit house win, we were fortunate that we were giving one more chance to win the game, absolutely but I don't think Jose is to blame when his forwards miss chance after chance. I can't remember the last Spurs game when a keeper was tested as much as Reina was today. There's still some problems to figure out of course however considering we're playing without a striker and also rested some very important players I thought it was a decent attacking performance.

I agree a win is a win but we are still conceding too many goals against poor opposition even with or without Kane it needs sorting.

I don't think we particularly tested Reina, a lot of our shots were straight at him.

I don’t even feel that Reina was tested. His saves weren’t exactly worldies, all pretty straightforward. Our shots were woeful on a whole

When I say Tested I mean actually being asked to make Saves throughout the game, I feel like usually we only have a couple of shots on target at least for the past 12 months over a lot of games when we were chasing a win we were never actually getting many shots away.

I agree.

But even with our squad now we should be able to control a football game more than we currently do, even against the worst sides in the league. For me that is worrying.

I will wait till next season but I reckon we won’t do much better, at least now with a lot of our current players.
Hope I’m wrong.

I’m not sure he can be held responsible for players failing to control a simple pass or worse still, not be able to make a simple pass over five yards. The amount of times we gave away cheap possession in the first half hour was laughable. Nothing to do with any type of game plan or coaching methods. Real silly basic errors.

Our squad is lopsided. It’s been poorly constructed over the last few years, chuck in injuries and it makes sense that we’ll be a little disjointed. Today we started with three wingers and had four centre midfielders on the bench.

I just watched the build up tot he goons game and all I heard was Arteta Needs to be given time. He has one league win since he started. Jose seems to be the man with no time to spare, results need to be yesterday and we need to be playing great football from the off too.
Judge him in 10 months I’d say.

In our last 6 games, we’ve won 4 and drawn 2, with no striker.

In fact our record since Kane’s injury on January 1st is:

P9, W5, D3, L1.

Jose is grinding result after result out of this team, with our most crucial player missing and nobody deputising in the role. It might be ugly but the job is still getting done.

Pochettino couldn’t have done that. Nor could probably at least 17 of the other managers in the Premier League right now.

Since he was appointed only Liverpool and City have accumulated more points.

We’ve also had to deal with CL games and Cup replays in that time.

I don't want to turn this into Poch v Jose, but Poch done that a number of times over a couple of seasons, while Jose is getting results I don't think he is really getting the best out of Son, while Poch did and if you look back there were a lot people suggesting we played better without Kane during those runs.
