I am looking forward to the day Mourinho gets the sack. He is an embarrassment. He moans about injuries, moans about the ball and moans about everything else. Mourinho believes his own hype he thinks he is the show and you can see the players don’t really care and will never play for him. Mourinho will get another golden parachute probably at the end of the season.

Fedupyid said he was "looking forward to Mourhino getting the sack " well all I can say there is more than a few players should get the sack before Mourhino.

Does he now? Our biggest deficiency is DM by a very big margin. Yet we don't seem to be after any DM. Not one DM has been linked in the media or by any ITK.

I don't think that means much. Some of the ITK's like JJ refuse to say anything about players until they've been mentioned in the media.

I think the chance of us being after a DM without being linked to anyone in the position on the media or by the ITK is very slim. I'm talking about positions rathan than a particular player.

Some saying disparaging things about Martin Jol I am sorry but I can't have that he was responsible for three fantastic years that saw us come from a bottom half team to a team challenging for Europe and a couple of years for the champions league .
For me this man laid the foundations for the improvement in the Poch years .
I think it was His team that won our last trophy although it was the man who took over from him that got the credit .
Please do not disrespect M Jol within my hearing .

When I fell back in love with the club.

Those of us without the memory of a Goldfish will recall how Liverpool played when Klopp first arrived. His default tactic was to have the ball hit long for the likes of Salah to run onto and attack their backline. He then patiently built up his squad to include players that now allow them to play in a variety of different ways, but they still employ the long ball tactic on a regular basis even now, as it is still an effective tactic when employed at the right time.
It has taken him 4 to 5 seasons to get the balance right and his player procurement has been, quite frankly, exemplary.

JM has inherited a disfunctional squad, with confidence issues and some glaring holes in it. I'm not going down the "blame game" route that many on here seem to default to as it achieves nothing other than creating division on here. We are where we are.

We are currently looking on Liverpool with envy and complaining about how far behind us they used to be, whilst expecting a new manager to magically redress the balance just because he has a winning CV, yet ignoring the fact that the manager we are so envious of has taken 4 to 5 seasons to work his own particular brand of magic.

The significance of this seems to be eluding many on here, blinded it seems by the intense dislike of the perceived character of our own manager.

Personally I couldn't give a flying fuck about his perceived character, us older fans will recall that the great Bill Nic wasn't exactly the warm and cuddly type, his response to Cliff Jones, when he came looking for a raise, bear that out, but we worship Bill Nic because he was a winner with a winners mentality.

I personally like JM, always have, but even if I didn't I wouldn't give a toss about his character so long as he gets the club up there challenging and winning pots. He's our manager, he'll be doing his utmost to get the club where we all believe we belong and, as such, will get my support whether I like him or not. I don't give a shit if he's doing it for personal reasons, winning is winning.

But the key point here is that if we want what Liverpool currently have, we need to give him the time and support required, same as Klopp got.

This includes DL. I'm BSoDL as most on here know, but the club's success comes first and foremost. He's done a terrific job up till now with getting all of the foundations in place, including an elite manager. I believe he WILL back JM, but don't necessarily expect to see a huge outlay this window. However, if he doesn't start bringing in the required personnel from this coming Summer then I too will be adding my voice to the general discontent towards our Chairman.

This is a very good post and I could be wrong but something tells me that Jose’s remit isn’t a 4-5 year project. I believe he was brought in to get this same group of players performing within the next season or two with a few additions.

Totally agree with this. Jose isn’t a long (or even mid) term project type of manager. Every job has been around 2 years.

It seems likely that Levy hoped José would come in and provide a huge boost in results for the next 1-2 years without having to spend the money on players that Poch was calling for.

In this way, appointing Jose on £15m a year would actually be a cheaper option.

I would love to be proven wrong, and see Jose backed in the transfer market and actually show a willingness to rebuild us over a longer period.

Am I the only person kind of hoping that Sacremento shows both desire and ability to eventually succeed Mourinho.
I know he's got no experience as a number one, but he's been learning well and seems to show potential. He's very highly thought of too.

If Levy really thought that then he'd be a total idiot. And I dont think he is.

7 days in and no signing is a bit worrying.

I am really not seeing any major improvement. The initial period where players play harder under a new manager was very short and we are back to throwing away matches we should win easily. Main difference I see is in the excuses. The players were unable to beat Middlesbrough because the ball was not heavy enough. Even though both teams kicked the same ball. I will give him time but the excuses need to stop as they are just silly

I know. Let’s see where we’re at by midnight on the 31st.
It makes me laugh, Mourinho's pretty much said he's not looking at any new players...yet the mind readers on here convince themselves its because we don't want to show we've got money to spend.
Then they'll get all upset when we dont sign anyone.
