Ideally we just need to go out and get Ndidi. Why he would ever sign for us in the absolute shit state we're in I don't know though.
LOL!
I always thought that Poch should have put his job on the line with Levy if he wasnt getting what he needed. I think the same with Mourinho.
If it's relatively reasonable to get.
We did pay for ND and for Sanchez so I'm talking in those figures say plus 10 or 15 mil etc

You are living on another planet mate, anything to fit your narrative.

Fulham played Dembele in the exact same position we deployed him in, thats why we bought him!!!!!!!!

Anything suggested otherwise is just nonsense.
Poch played him as an attacking midfielder and then didn't play him at all until he settled him back down into central midfield. He was almost sold to chelsea in that winter window too. Imagine how bad a decision that would of been!

He started 10 games in the 14/15 season and was subbed off in 8 of them!

He wasn't injured in that time either.

But yes we miss him. Hopefully Ndomebele can be Mourinho's saviour in midfield

I wonder if Levy will be willing to spend if we DONT make top 4 cause let's face it at this rate we may not even finish top 6.

Yet, he'll be in a situation in which the only way to get back into CL will be how Jose did it at United or by spending massively. Or will he consider that too much of a risk?

You're absolutely right.

In fact I remember going to Liverpool and he played RAM and many discussed whether it was a good role for him as he could dribble.

Poch initially preferred Bentaleb in Dembele's role and we'd often line up with Bentaleb and Mason.

You definitely aren't on another planet!

I was so angry at the original comment, i agree with those made after.

Its just the argument of Poch turning Dembele from failed striker to DM is just scandalous.

The fact is Dembele put in several sensational performances in CM/DM for Fulham (one famous one at Old Trafford where he ran the show).

Those of us without the memory of a Goldfish will recall how Liverpool played when Klopp first arrived. His default tactic was to have the ball hit long for the likes of Salah to run onto and attack their backline. He then patiently built up his squad to include players that now allow them to play in a variety of different ways, but they still employ the long ball tactic on a regular basis even now, as it is still an effective tactic when employed at the right time.
It has taken him 4 to 5 seasons to get the balance right and his player procurement has been, quite frankly, exemplary.

JM has inherited a disfunctional squad, with confidence issues and some glaring holes in it. I'm not going down the "blame game" route that many on here seem to default to as it achieves nothing other than creating division on here. We are where we are.

We are currently looking on Liverpool with envy and complaining about how far behind us they used to be, whilst expecting a new manager to magically redress the balance just because he has a winning CV, yet ignoring the fact that the manager we are so envious of has taken 4 to 5 seasons to work his own particular brand of magic.

The significance of this seems to be eluding many on here, blinded it seems by the intense dislike of the perceived character of our own manager.

Personally I couldn't give a flying fuck about his perceived character, us older fans will recall that the great Bill Nic wasn't exactly the warm and cuddly type, his response to Cliff Jones, when he came looking for a raise, bear that out, but we worship Bill Nic because he was a winner with a winners mentality.

I personally like JM, always have, but even if I didn't I wouldn't give a toss about his character so long as he gets the club up there challenging and winning pots. He's our manager, he'll be doing his utmost to get the club where we all believe we belong and, as such, will get my support whether I like him or not. I don't give a shit if he's doing it for personal reasons, winning is winning.

But the key point here is that if we want what Liverpool currently have, we need to give him the time and support required, same as Klopp got.

This includes DL. I'm BSoDL as most on here know, but the club's success comes first and foremost. He's done a terrific job up till now with getting all of the foundations in place, including an elite manager. I believe he WILL back JM, but don't necessarily expect to see a huge outlay this window. However, if he doesn't start bringing in the required personnel from this coming Summer then I too will be adding my voice to the general discontent towards our Chairman.
Massive winner!

Is very difficult to put your finger on what the problem is. Poch & Jose are clearly top managers, and on paper we have a good squad of players. I think the problem lies in the combination of players we have, we don’t have players that make those around them better, such as a Carrick, Modric or even Berbatov etc... They don’t need to be world class either, someone like Gareth Barry or Jordan Henderson perform the same kind of role. This is why I think Ali is looking particularly poor, he needs the right kind of players around him to see the best of him. I don’t think there is much more José can do until he gets the chance to bring in a couple of players.

We will see the odd good result as when we click we are still a decent side but we won’t have much consistency with this bunch of players.

I think the problem is mostly creating a flow through midfield. When NDombele isnt playing everyone keeps recycling the ball.
It's a lack if vision with most of the players.
Eriksen is an artist when it's available if it's not he recycles. We are in the wrong business.
Yes we also have to keep the defence tight so we need a tough mobile DM to protect the back line

I think he gave Redknapp money at Christmas when we were struggling

when Klopp took over had the side he inherited been up there challenging for the title?
JM has probably inherited a better squad and is doing SFA with them.
To say I’m disappointed with how things are going is putting it mildly, I’m raging.
If he’s so damn special he should be getting this lot of so called professional, well paid footballers to get their finger out and start earning their pay
Yes, literally the season prior to Rodgers last (2014/15 I think)

Some saying disparaging things about Martin Jol I am sorry but I can't have that he was responsible for three fantastic years that saw us come from a bottom half team to a team challenging for Europe and a couple of years for the champions league .
For me this man laid the foundations for the improvement in the Poch years .
I think it was His team that won our last trophy although it was the man who took over from him that got the credit .
Please do not disrespect M Jol within my hearing .

True he did. But that was because they were concerned about relegation.

Will Levy be that keen to spend to get back into the top 4 if we fail this season

Good point, which reinforces the need for patience and backing from our board.
