I know social media can lend itself to empty words, but the messages in tribute of Poch from Alli, Kane and Winks seem genuine and heartfelt.

It does ask the question then who in the squad was working against Poch that was deemed more important than him by Levy - because i'd have been happy to bin off the majority of the players if there were issues, bar those mentioned above and then Son and the two new lads.

Gf: ‘have you seen the news?’
me: ‘lol of course not”
gf: ‘no, the spurs news”

( Almost) whenever we get someone in, my retarded excitement overtakes everything I think and thought previously. Never wanted him for a moment, and have hated him throughout his career but now I’m thinking... oh, look, what a lovely smile. At least it’ll be interesting and he’s high profile enough to be good for the club in that way. think I just like change, it’s fun.

i wanted Poch out and knew I would feel sad but I didn’t realise quite how sad, :( I absolutely fucking love the guy. Feel like my best friend moved abroad or something. ugh. Love him. Was definitely the right time to go though because I suspect that’s how all spurs fans will feel about him forever. He‘ll be drinking for free/always have a place to stay and every other cliche, in north London. Has he put out a statement yet?

Can't speak for them but I doubt a league cup will come close to the memories of what they achieved in the CL last season.
True, but it's about building on that.
Would you prefer they left and won trophies elsewhere but at least had "fond" memories of that CL experience? Is that all we want?

The CL was special, it was great, but we didn't win. We have to change that, these players and this club needs that. We cannot continue with projects and nearly rans or we will not pull in the players or sponsorhsips we are aiming for.

Yes, JM is a short term appointment, at least judging by his past, but it is the shot in the arm this club needs right now to stay at the top, to stay relevant. We might miss out on CL for next season, but with Jose at the helm, assuming we come close and possibly with a FA Cup?! We should still attract big names or exciting prospects.

Jose has a reputation for moaning, but with the odd exception, he defends his teams to the hilt, he plies all the pressure on himself by playing up to that mantra of being a d*ck. It should have been clear though that that is his managerial persona. Think many here saw the other Mourinho in his stint as pundit.

I will always love and respect Poch, he should rightly go down in Spurs history as a very good manager, who dragged us up to the top, but now we need the next step. People talk about Jose's time at Manchester United? Where are they though since he left?

I appreciate he splits opinion, but so far he has always delivered and that is the standard he sets and brings. Doesn't guarantee anything, we still operate within the same financial constraints vs the top tier clubs, but we are not shy in spending either and Jose will demand that this current talented squad win and will give them the tactical nous how to.

We won't see week in week out playing out from the back whilst under extreme pressure, JM won't stand for the defensive lapses, the coasting Eriksen, he will demand work rate and effeciency and will back this up with points on the board, and hopefully silverware to boot. This is what we as a club need right now.

You want to be a top club, you can't just take the next upcoming manager and work on a project. The project is run, it's live, it now needs to give results.

You don't hire JM to be here in 5-6 years time (though football is so crazy who knows), you hire JM to get you over the line with a gold medal and work towards enhancing your name and brand so that you can continue to hire winners in the future, both players and staff alike.

Did you see the players after the final?
Great memories there (?!) but I'm sure they're overshadowed by winning the semi-final.

Would be interesting to see how everyone reacted when George Graham became our manager and then how people felt when we won the Cup against Leicester with him in charge.

Some of you have a wee moral issue with hiring Mourinho.

Aww bless.

No wonder we've such a weak mentality running through the Club.

I was there - some sung his name.

and GG I’d nowhere near the level/winnings of Mourninho .

All great in theory. But you can't bin off all but 7 of a squad. Once a manager has lost trust of a large amount of players, it's curtains.

I wasn't sure about the appointment yesterday when the rumour wheels were spinning and I still have my doubts over it now. However on reflection I am excited to see it play out. One of the key things for me other than the winning mentality is his ability to attract top quality players. Even if he makes mistakes and it all goes to pot I very much doubt the squad will be worse off. He will identify weak positions (RB, DM etc) and hopefully bring in the quality needed.

Also, as others have said, no chance he’s come here, to Daniel levy’s club, under the impression he’ll be able to spend as he did at every other club since Porto. No way that discussion didn’t take place. Someone said he mentioned looking forward to working with our academy? That is so telling if true, about the provisos for him joining.

again it’s wild optimism but maybe he’s had enough of getting fired for poor performances and the same approach every time. Maybe he wants something new and rejuvenating himself.

We’re probably the only club with a section of the fanbase that want to be a big club whilst simultaneously turning their noses up at trophies

I'd rather be right and accept the situation for what it is now over kidding myself and moaning about it later.

Cool, be miserable for the sake of your stubbornness, your choice.

It's gonna be funny watching you celebrate goals only to act like you don't care when people notice you celebrating.

Ah, yes life lessons from Michael Bay. Fantastico. Why not just throw in a few Trump quotes too?

It’s not even a moral thing that he treats people like shit, although I find that kind of thing important, its that by doing the kind of reprehensible stuff he did to Carneiro or Luke Shaw he shot himself in the foot because it turned players against him too.
