I don't see why that needs to be the comparison, can I not value both?

If I were to pick on though in the context of this season as it looks difficult to qualify for the top 4 I'd love a trophy.
Without hundreds of millions to spend I doubt he'll even win us the small time trophies.

Probably something to do with the fact we spend less money than nearly all top half premiership teams. I think it worked out to a net spend of £19M per year over the last 5 years. We've been punching way above where we should be on that figure.

I'm gonna keep repeating myself

12 semi finals, 1 Cup win...they all can't be down to lack of money or finance.

I think your post missed the mark but it raises a point about the players. Maybe this is the shake up they need. For the first time in ages they are going to go into training not knowing what to expect, not knowing who the first XI is, not knowing who the captain is, not knowing what the training is going to be like.

They are going to have to work to earn their crust and everyone is on a level playing field. It's a chance for many, so can they take their chance?

Yeah that’s kind of what I meant. Also imagine him sitting there sipping his flat white as you walk into the canteen. That’s Jose fucking Mourinho, I better impress him.

Appointing someone like Howe, wouldn’t get the reaction we need from the players. Appointing Mourinho should.

Still gutted Poch has gone but Jose would have been my choice to replace him and the thought of him going to the Goons made me a bit uneasy as i think he would've improved them massively. Not sure what to make of the academy quotes, our reserve / youth sides haven't been doing well recently have they? January should be very interesting anyway. Have to get behind him and the team and hopefully we can start to climb the league. COYS.

The guy on SSN standing in front of the training ground reckons he’s at the hotel already. Imagine the players walking in and seeing him there with that arrogant/confident smile on his face. I bet the players can’t wait to get in there today.

Agreed, I’d bet that most of the players will be buzzing at the prospect of working for a elite manager like Mourinho.

Nah, we already have 100ms worth of talent in our squad, we don't need to add much to it.
Go and look up what got spent on players at United. Players Jose wanted. That barely played. Then he threw his toys out the pram because they wouldn't sign a centre back.

Can't speak for them but I doubt a league cup will come close to the memories of what they achieved in the CL last season.
"Do you remember that time we almost won something?"

Vs.

Hmmmmm.

I don't need to mate I'm well aware. (y)

Now maybe you should look up and compare the squads between Utd when he was first hired and our squad now and you'll see that our squad are in far better shape than they were.

And that CB he tried to sign was Toby Alderweireld who happens to play for us so...

Naaaah, fuck this... I'm sorry but this isn't the way Jose has ever worked. Why would he change now???

Waiting for someone to compile everything he’s said about us on sky sports in the last year. I bet it will be pretty interesting

Maybe this will be the club where he finally uses the academy players? Lets be honest the pressure isn't as high to win as it is at the other clubs he was at. He has the luxury of being able to bring through young players and experiment as finishing to 4 will be enough.
