The players won’t have an easy ride of it. Jose will be coming in to get us way up the league and to win a trophy this season, be it the FA cup, CL, or the Europa if we end up in it. It’ll be flat out until the end of the season.

I think most people, on the face of it, would view it that way.

But anyone thinking Levy hasn't covered every angle with Mourinho before appointing him is under estimating the meticulous nature of the man.

The parameters will have been set.
Yeah. Its fairly interesting isnt it.

Because whatever you can say about Jose you cant claim he is naive or stupid, he will be fully aware of how Spurs operate, how Levy operates and what constraints all Spurs managers are under in comparison to City/Utd/Liverpool. Likewise with Daniel Levy.

He is going into this with eyes wide open as is Levy with him. So the idea that he will throw a strop if we dont sign an Ibrahimovic on 300k a week for him doesnt add up.

Im intrigued to be honest.

Some ground work has probably been set, but it feels like something happened in the last couple of days. Suddenly it all happened at once, at the end of a international break.
I would guess that that the way Sheffield Utd played us off the park was the final straw for Levy. Levy then negotiated a deal with Jose and then went to Poch and told him he was finished and tried to manage his exit. Poch would not play ball in how Levy wanted it to happen. The meeting reported in the Times yesterday was probably dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s for his exit package. The rest we all know.

Think he suits where we are, he is better coming to a team that isn't full of massive egos and teaching them how to win, think the players will be delighted

Can you just leave one thread alone with this shit?
Seeing as we’ve gone back to the head coach title for a manager and we have no director of football to fill the gaps, no i will not

I think it's absolutely mental that we've managed to pull off hiring a coach of Jose's stature. As if that leaves anyone in any doubt of where we are as a football club these days.

One thing on his Man Utd tenure, look at the squad he took over.., not exactly brilliant and he won trophys with it,

I know any Man Utd fan reading this will accuse me of being deluded but I generally believe ours is much better than that squad

They won’t.

They know their squad was a mess and many of them blame Woodward rather than Mourinho for things going wrong there.

It’s a gamble that could go either way. It’s an ambitious appointment though, you can’t deny that. I’m backing it.

The only realistic appointment I wanted. Just a little concerned with him having an entirely new backroom staff in place. He must have people in jobs Levy will need to get?

Pretty disgusted at a few of the messages on here, wishing for him to fail, and ultimately Tottenham to fail just because “he isn’t a nice guy apparently”.

Citing turgid football, unhappy players, bad atmosphere, all the while forgetting that this has been the case for nearly a year under the likeable chap that is Pochettino. I’m sad and grateful for Poch, however it was the right time for him to go, especially when you factor in the ITK that an irreplaceable player wanted Poch gone.

We have opted for a proven winner this time round and I would hate it if our fans hound him out of the club because they don’t like him personally. I would see that as small time and we would deserve someone like Eddie Howe, a nice guy but ultimately limited.
