Dan KP was bang on in the summer so this is a worry. I can't see how the season would be anything but a write off if we did nothing in January. Maybe we could fluke a FA Cup but I can't see how we can solve our issues at DM or RB without signings. Unless Skipp and Foyth become overnight worldies.

Even worse when you consider Chelsea are likely to spend big in January now.

Well, maybe they could contribute with some consistency and energy at least? I think that would be quite a big difference to what we have now, with out being worldies. Right back is a bigger worry because I can't see KWP doing much and I'm not sure about Foyth as rb.

JM already said it’s difficult to do much with the squad while we are playing 3 games in a week.
After the Wolves away game he has a clear week so let’s hope he puts it to good use.
Not sure he’s much of a gambler or he’d surely give Lo Celso a start.

We were never buying anyone in January. Anyone was kidding themselves to think otherwise.
Kidding ourselves, sure. But the club are not doing the right thing here, it's imperative this club identify and do all they can to bring in a DM otherwise Jose can patch it up anyway he likes but we won't be getting any better soon.

Levy is proactive in bringing in a new coach but the recruitment side is still way behind.

If you start now, the work during the summer isn't half as hard.

Pointless, we're just pissing more time away as usual, fuck all has really changed.

Or even trying to sign someone in January and loaning them back to the club for the rest of the season. Like Pulisic.
We're just not upto it.

Flog a starting eleven or so to death and then not bother making the restocking of the squad easier moving forward. Scouting seems inept and the youth system seems dry.

Maybe we as fans do have thoughts above our station.

From Dan KP

Well, we hear this line pretty much every transfer window. The club probably wants to play down expectations that we're going to embark on a spending spree. I doubt we are to be honest but at the same time if an opportunity presents itself to buy a player in a position we're short, I'm sure we'd be interested. I just can't believe Jose would've taken the job had Levy told him our transfer budget is non-existent.

January is for players out of contract, transfer listed players or youngsters in Championship and League One. That's how we got Holtby, Alli, Moura and almost Barkley. Looks like Levy won't change his modus operandi even with Mourinho in charge. Last two weeks of summer is when we do most of our business and probably fail to fill all holes and sell everyone. Maybe Campos or some other DoF can change that, we'll see.

Agreed that the link really means fuck all. That was always going to be the club's response.

No sane businessman would come out and say "we've got a shit ton of money to spend". That article may well be true, but the optimist in me hopes that it's something being leaked by the club. Arsenal did the exact same thing in the summer, so it's not unheard of.

Love this part: "That’s not the way I look at things. I don’t look at individuals but the defensive process, and that belongs to 11 players on the pitch. It is in our organisation that we have to resolve our problems, not about one players, or signings. It’s a process.".

I remember these posts a couple seasons ago while we was going 500 days not signing anyone.
