Ok but of fun. Ange spoke about being in X a while ago and the brilliant Billie T on there and others think they have found him.

  • They have lost seven of their past 11 top-flight matches, only earning points in that run against relegated pair Burnley and Sheffield United, promoted Leicester City and bottom of the table Everton.
  • Tottenham have conceded 26 set-piece goals in the Premier League since the start of last season, second only to Nottingham Forest's 27

Those are the seven games we lost (in reverse chronological order). We had a horrible run of tough games at the back end of last season, and have since only lost away to Newcastle (seemingly our bogey team in recent times) and against last season's PL runners-up.

We haven;t been good enough, but I'd like to know which team had a tougher run of 11 PL fixtures during the same period without dropping more points.

@Trix it looked different today, maybe a tactical tweak, but I don't really see this stuff on the pitch much, thoughts mate?
I went today and I was certainly impressed with what I saw. Looked to me like a few tactical differences going forward. I'm still concerned from a defensive pov but it was definitely a big improvement. I need to re watch the game tomorrow, and I'll post a more thorough review of what I think changed, but on the all well done Ange and the boys.

Something to take note of on the rewatch was the tweak he made to the left hand side dynamics.

Could clearly see that Maddison had been instructed to take on much more of the ball out on the wing which was very effective. Maddison is a much better dribbler out there than Son is now so was he actually able to take on and beat his man. Simultaneously it also enabled Son to stay off the wing and stay further inside which is where he's at his most effective.

We should all want him to well, obviously.

But I'm backing him even further after the way the media and that gobshite Rory Jennings
have gone for him.

Apparently he isn't a PL level coach.

Well I think he showed Thomas Frank, who many here consider solid, something today.

I can't recall who it was now, maybe Simon Jordan, but they said this week that Ange "won't win anything this season and that's a fact".

Dumbfounded.

We need to get behind him because we have a lot of enemies who will gladly criticise Ange and the club as they want to see us in turmoil and divided.

10/10 game approach and management from Big Ange today. Finally some tweaks in his setup. Trust the damn process and be patient, it will pay off. Now on to smash Qarabag and really kickstart our season. COYS!
What were the tweaks in the set-up?

Was it not just that Brentford pressed us quite a bit and didn’t just park the bus so we found it easier to attack them?

We will definitely still have plenty of bumps so be prepared.

Unfortunately, Ange is only ever 1 or 2 bad results from fans questioning him.

Can everyone just do some bloody yoga calm down and enjoy the ride under Ange 😊
Sadly probably not, there is a clear agenda with some members on here against Ange. The performances so far this season on a whole have been good, so I don’t get this *Ange isn’t cut out for the PL* bullshit. We are still a developing team and far from the finished article. We need to hold any proper criticism until we get 10-15 games into the season.

I have my doubts it's him.

Delighted with Ange yesterday. There were more attacking positions and combinations taken up and the press was as intelligent as it was energetic.

Brentford battled well though and without a number of key players still gave us quite a few scares, away from home.

So let's stay level.

Vic was much more proactive in coming for stuff so obviously Ange and staff are responding to the issues. Rome wasn't built in a day, especially if Levy was building it

The big change is we didn't play against a low block for the first time this season. Clue in the 50-50 possession stats.

Weird that wily Franks didn't follow the rules on how to beat us. 'We came to play football' he said and so gave us room to play our footie for first time this season.

Even Howe , with fearsome attacking Newcastle at home, played a low block...successfully ofc. Even Arse played low block vs us (successfully ofc)

No truthful analysis of our performance can be made if this crucial reality is ignored.

Who gives a fuck about a high or low block. Why question the win mate!

The reality is we got 3 points so not much more analysis needed.

No single game taken in isolation can be taken as a yardstick for a whole season. All we can take from it is an enjoyable game, the players can take a confidence boost and just see where we go from there.
